My Review

Remember that boy in college you fell in love with?  You know the one… the one who argued with you until all hours of the night, never saw eye to eye with you, who got your mind stimulated, the one who could make you lose your cool and you still could not stay away from?  Ah, yes!  If you did not end up marrying him, I bet you still remember him fondly.  Well that is Blake to our Anastasia.

Their relationship even progressed to a one-night-stand, after which life intervened and they were separated for years.  Life or Fate if you will, has a way to toy with our lovers.  Now that Ana is running a remodeling company which caters both to the rich and the poor (and yes, not really for profit) it turns out that Blake is the guru who is handling the purchase of the small town hardware store through which Ana’s remodeling is handled.  Big business has come to this small town and threatens to change the bucolic and charming town into something their residents will not be able to recognize.

Two directly opposite points of view – Blake focused on the bottom line and making money, and Ana providing a services to the senior retirees and poor by doing work for the rich.  Can these two direct opposites come to terms and compromise?

Annie Seaton brilliantly weaves her story.  Ana is forced to face Blake to save her business.  Blake is saddled with a family emergency that Ana is unique able to help with.  Into the mix, add five children, one of which has a disability, a dog and huge dose of love and understanding.  Love and family is the bridge for our lovers.  Old feelings which have been simmering for years, now explode to a roaring fire that promises to permanently change our lovers.

This delightful story is an easy read.  You will love, cry and sometimes laugh out loud as you are hooked by a story you will not soon forget.
