Lost in the shadows of a tragedy that stripped Aurora June of everything she once loved, she’s back in the small town of Balsam Grove, North Carolina, ready to face all she’s kept locked away for seven years. Or so she thinks.
As one of the victims of a string of mysterious disappearances in the small, picturesque Appalachian Mountain town, darkness has become her home—her safe blanket when the world reveals its true colors. But as the walls of darkness start to move in on her, she knows the only way to free herself from her past is to face it, head-on. She just needs to figure out how.
Upon arrival, Aurora isn’t expecting her first collision to be with the boy she left all those years ago. The boy who betrayed her trust with no regrets. The boy who is no longer a boy, but a man with the same stormy eyes that swept her into his current before she ever learned to swim.
She’d thought he was safe. He’d thought their path was mapped out. Turns out neither of them was ready for the crash at the bottom of the cascade.

Excerpt

As I approach the edge of the winding river less than a minute’s walk from my cottage, it’s like someone has injected me with life. With a lift of my chin, I close my eyes and inhale until I’m no longer dulled and disoriented. Everything becomes clear. In Balsam Grove, I breathe the air with new lungs, feel the breeze with new skin, and see the land through new eyes. I don’t try to navigate my way. I hike beside the river, around every curve and bend, uphill and against the current. It’s a familiar path, but my focus isn’t on the destination. Every now and then I stop to take a drink from the stream, pluck a fiery pink flower, and tune into a wild animal scampering across fallen leaves. But it’s not until I reach a steeper incline that I take a moment to assess where I’m headed. The river has significantly increased in speed since I began walking a few minutes ago. A steeper incline forces me to distance myself from the water’s edge, onto a more manageable path through the woods. My thighs burn from the steady climb, and my throat aches from dehydration. I never planned to journey this far, but I could have at least thought to bring water. I’m ready to turn back, find the river, and drink from it when I spot the top of a familiar red house peeking over the hill. Hummingbirds unleash in my chest as I inch forward.
Mere seconds later, I’m standing on flat land again, taking in the two-story home that overlooks a waterfall, an old millhouse beside it. It’s like it came out of nowhere, but this house—it’s home to some of my best memories, my biggest dreams, and the beginning of the horrible nightmare that ended life as I knew it.
“Ah, that’s my girl,” a voice booms in the distance. “Bring it here, Lacey.”
Shit. Jaxon?
My eyes sweep left, to the source of the river. Two waterfalls coming from different directions spill into one body of water where Jaxon treads. He’s patting the water as Lacey paddles over with a stick in her mouth.
Jaxon takes the stick, then rubs her head before she continues paddling to the edge of the river. After she climbs out and does a full body shake to dry off, he tosses the stick to the side and turns back to the water, swimming lap after lap until I’ve lost count. Every powerful stroke reveals inches of well-cut muscle and betrays his familiarity with the water.
Jaxon always loved everything about the water. Diving, swimming, fishing…sex. I shiver at the memory of how well our slick bodies fit together. Of his delicate fingers stripping me of my bikini top so he could see all of me as he inched his way into my body, my heart. Of his hot mouth wrapping around my pebbled nipple just to hear my whispered cry. Of the way he watched me with hooded eyes as I came for him, my back pressed against a boulder and the plunging falls above us swallowing my cries.
He took everything good from me, but it was me that handed it over for the taking.
He’s still mesmerizing, and I can’t take my eyes off him now. With every stroke, I imagine him swimming away from me, away from our past and deeper into the rushing swell of the stream. How long has he been swimming? How far?
I swallow my anxiety as he finally breaks from his exercise to catch his breath. When he does, I’m as breathless as he is.
I’m not sure how long I’ve been staring when he uses the slick rocks to pull himself from the water, but I’m completely captivated by the droplets coursing down his naked back and arms. He’s all strength and agility, effortlessly pulling himself to his feet. I should turn away, but I don’t. Instead, I watch as water glides from his long hair, down his narrow waist, and then over the most beautiful ass I’ve ever seen.
Is he…?
I gasp, my hand clapping over my mouth. But it’s too late. One slip of my breath is all it takes for Lacey’s snout to jerk in my direction and sound off the first menacing growl.

 4 “Remember” Stars

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect going into this book. It was my first Ms. Allen book and the blurb left much to the imagination but I was captivated. Plus the stellar writing made meant I felt every emotion as I read.

Aurora June’s life is nothing like she dreamed when she was a child. After a tragedy befell her, her family and the entire small town in which she lived, her whole life changed. For years she’s tried to move beyond the life altering day that effected her whole life. Moving back to the town she left, she’s trying to put the pieces of her broken life together and move on. She doesn’t expect to run into her childhood sweetheart and breaker of her heart on the first day back. She doesn't expect feelings to still be there. And she doesn’t expect all the secrets that will be made known to change everything.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a romantic suspense novel and it captured me from the very beginning. I was consumed with finding out what exactly happened and was pleasenly surprised that I didn’t expect the outcome. This book has definately made me a fan of this author and I’m exicted to now read through her back list.

BLURB
It is truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of a dead-end job, shoebox studio apartment, and zany, intensely loyal friends, must be in want of a man.
But in my wildest dreams, I never expected that man to remember me selling overpriced KoolAid in my Rainbow Brite underpants when I was six years old. Life is unpredictable.
Fraser Drake was the least sexy boy when we were growing up: all elbows and knees and khaki pleats and debate club. But right now, in my mother's kitchen, he's never looked hotter, more irresistible. Granted, he's looking down on me as I expertly dance the sock hop scene from Grease. But behind those layers of haughty indifference, I detect the hint of lust.
He is everything I never knew I wanted. Since I met him, my feet haven't touched the ground and my smile hasn't left my face. His laugh is like a well-aged scotch, and I have a feeling I could get drunk on it.
If a Pride and Prejudice/Bridget Jones’s Diary mash-up but with more sex, sexual tension, and sexy sex, sounds good to you, you've come to the right place.

EXCERPT

Fraser was looking like a granite block of control before; at my words, he’s still got that chiseled expression, but it’s wonderful to see the light come back into his eyes. The hot, sexy light smoldering in those (warm, brown) eyes that are set in that (handsome, sculpted, take-me-now) face is enough to melt any woman’s heart. And panties.
“Thank you.” He gathers me against him, and kisses me. The first brush of lips is a quick reassurance, almost sweet. Then, the second time, it becomes deeper and slower. The heat turns up as he gathers a fistful of my hair, pulling my head back. I gasp, grazing his lower lip with my teeth. His whole body vibrates with that. We kiss again, falling deeper and deeper into each other. I start pulling at his tie, and have it off in seconds. He slides out of his jacket, which falls to the floor. Don’t worry, all my sweatpants and discarded bras will keep it company.
I really should clean up more. But not right now. Right now, sex is all I can think about, and clothes just get in the way of sex. It’s math.
Fraser stills as I unbutton his shirt, giving myself a glimpse of that rock hard, sculpted physique that I find I happily can’t get enough of. I’m like Pavlov’s dog now: whenever someone takes a shirt off, I start drooling.
I had to try to curb that last time Fraser and I had sex. It almost got awkward.
With my help, Fraser strips off his dastardly shirt in a matter of seconds. I shiver as my fingers play up the contours of his abs, his chest. I trail my touch down the steel and silk muscles of his arms. Holy shit, this man must work out a ton.
And to that I say: huzzah.
“I’m feeling a bit more exposed than you,” Fraser whispers in my ear, kissing down my neck. In a flash, he helps pull my shirt over my head, and a second later, I slide out of my work skirt. Now in only bra and panties, I gasp as Fraser picks me up. My legs straddle his waist as he carries me to the bed, and lays me down…on top of more crinkling cellophane.
“How many Doritos do you consume in a week?” His eyes stay molten as he says it, the desire in his voice never losing its edge. Apparently snacking is the most erotic thing on the planet. Lucky, lucky me.
“Some of these are Fritos,” I whisper back.
   REVIEW   5 “English” Stars

I have such a big girl crush on Emma. She’s probably the best heroine I’ve read this year. And Fraser with his broody, English ways was yummy-liscious. Ms. Poppy Dunne is back with a bang reminding me just how much I love her rom coms, her characters and her writing.

Emma is the perennial middle child. She quirky, a bit silly, and kind of looked over. With her mother always on her about being a spinster, her brother with his American Dream family and her younger sister the light of everyone’s eyes, Emma has always kind of done her own thing. Running into her brother’s old childhood friend was never on her radar. She wanted nothing to do with him when they were children but there are quite a few things different about Fraser these days. And she can’t help but find herself desiring more than a friendly hello at family functions.

Fraser left the United States for London during the last year of high school. He’s grown up, changed, become mega rich but very closed off. The last thing he needs is the flies-by-the-seat-of-her-pants Emma popping up into his life though he’s drawn to her in a way he doesn’t want. Yet Fraser is as closed off as they come. Letting Emma wiggle her way into his life is the last thing he needs. Funny how the things you least expect have the greatest impact. These two opposite find something in each other that they’ve never found before. But they have to let it mature before it all comes spiraling out of control.

This book was full of wit and slow burning steam. With a bit of mystery surrounding Fraser, I was unable to put this book down. Plus Emma is seriously delightful. She’s someone I would love to be best friends with. And we cannot forget Ms. Dunne’s writing. It’s fantastic. She knows her characters, she makes them honest and fresh and I cannot get enough. I’m already excited for whatever she decides to write next.

*** COVER REVEAL *** Switch Hitter by Sara Ney

I knew something was wrong the second she walked in the door tonight; I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Same hair color. Same legs. Same face. Except…I look harder. At the small dimple beneath her lip that wasn’t there the last time we went out. And her laugh—that laugh isn’t as loud. This isn’t the girl I’ve gone out with the past few weeks. It’s her twin sister, and they’ve switched places on me. Only I’m not quite ready to let them switch back. ADD TO GOODREADS

"Wow. I loved it. Yep!!! You guys were right about this one. Totally reminiscent of our old school indie feels!! I mean... from the "meet-cute" to the "just hanging out as friends" to the obvious attraction, and the TOTALLY believable push-pull (and all the heartbreaking history behind it). I believed it. Felt every "feel" and especially the "whys" of this emotional journey." - Maryse, Maryse's Book Blog
"This is a debut novel, but leaves out no element of a romance; swoony, wit, charm, funny moments and emotional. It tells a chocolate mousse love story: fluffy and delicious on the surface and then three bites in (or fifty pages) you realize how deep and rich it really is." - Bestselling Author Emma Scott, Forever Right Now
"I laughed. I swooned. I raged. I swooned. And I really liked this book." - Paige, A is for Alpha B is for Books

That’s how the whole neighborhood refers to the apartment where I live with three other college students. It’s a bit judgmental, considering the neighborhood we live in is more like a zoo than an apartment complex, but not inaccurate. If you put that many young guys together, things are bound to be interesting. I still maintain that the giant water guns filled with poison ivy water were not my idea.

January Dixon.

She’s the girl I’ve lusted after for years. A smart mouth and sharp tongue surrounded by soft beauty and a body I’d give up an organ just to touch. An important organ, like a kidney, not one of those lame ones like a gallbladder.

It’s a tricky situation since she lives right down the street, and dating a neighbor generally isn’t a good idea. But this is Violent Circle, where normal may as well be a dirty word. Thanks to an impromptu fashion show where I tossed all self-respect aside and strutted my stuff in full bondage gear in front of our small town, she now owes me a date.

And I plan to collect,

ONLY BOUNDLESS LOVE CAN SILENCE THE WHISPERS OF THE PAST . . .

A broken woman.
A damaged man.
A free spirit intent on saving them both.

Elysia ‘Sia’ Willis lives a solitary life. The only person in it is her big brother, Ky, vice-president of the infamous Hades Hangmen. She loves him, but she has absolutely no love for the outlaw MC he belongs to.
Raised in secret by her mother, Sia grew up separated from her brother and distant father. No one knew she even existed.

After the tragic murder of her mother, Sia spiraled into a rebellion against the rules of the Hangmen. A rebellion with dire consequences that now, years later, she still can’t escape.

As she lives once again in secret, happy on her own at her secluded ranch, a devil from her past comes calling. A devil who wants to possess her once again and take her from the simple life she never wants to lose.
And he will stop at nothing to collect what he believes is his: her.

Valan ‘Hush’ Durand and Aubin ‘Cowboy’ Breaux have finally found a home in the mother chapter of the Hangmen. The notoriously private Cajun twosome have, for now, put aside what chased them from their beloved Louisiana. But as threats toward the club build, Hush and Cowboy are given a task—protect Elysia Willis at all costs. Cowboy welcomes the job of watching over the blond-haired, blue-eyed beauty.
Hush fights against it.

Scarred by events from his past and a secret that plagues his everyday life, Hush refuses to let anyone else get close. Only Cowboy knows the real him. Until a certain sister of the club’s VP begins to slowly knock down his defenses, shattering the heavily built walls that guard his damaged soul . . . with his best friend leading the charge.

As lost and open hearts begin to meld, taking each other from indescribable pain to the never-before felt relief of peace, the newly-mended threesome must first endure one more rocky path.
Only then will they finally shake free of the shackles of their pasts.
Only then will they shed the bonds that have for too long held their happiness captive.
And there is only one way to survive that path . . . together.

Dark Contemporary MFM Romance. Contains scenes of violence and explicit sexual situations. Over 18’s only.

Review

I fucking love this series! Tillie Cole has come up with the most diverse MC series i have ever read! Not one is the same.  Not one fails to grab me.  Not one ever disappoints!

We're up to book 6 in what i hope will be a very long series!  This is Cowboy, Hush and Sia's story, and what a story it is.

Cowboy and Hush are nomad members of the Hangmen.  Both very different in character, Cowboy is always relaxed and happy and generally fun.  Hush is quiet and wary and always on guard.  They shouldn't fit together so well but they do.  Best friends for a very long time they are the only ones who know their past.  Although they are part of the Hangmen they are also their own separate group away from the others.

Sia has been alone for quite a while.  Her brother Ky is all she has in the world.  She stays on her ranch and looks after her horses.  She's found a degree of peace there and is very reluctant to ever leave.  From hints dropped in previous books we know she's hiding away a dark secret that is keeping her alone.

Sia's past has now come back to haunt her.  She's forced by Ky and Styx into moving into the Hangmen compound.  She hates it she longs for the open fields of her ranch.  Deciding she wants to go home she won't take no for an answer.  Ky see's she needs to go home but won't let her go alone so he sends Hush and Cowboy.

Hush knows it's a bad idea to get close to Sia.  Since the wedding where Cowboy Sia and he spent some time together he knows she's dangerous to him.  He could easily see him and Cowboy with her but he knows it would never work.  They would never be accepted so why bother to get close only to be broken once again.  He;s determined to shut her out.  He's cold and distant and refuses to let her in.  Cowboy is the opposite.  He can see them all together.  Happy and no longer alone.  Any of them.  He want's it bad and is determined to convince Hush it can work if he'll just give it a chance.  Sia is happy Hush and Cowboy are the ones sent to protect her.  She felt a connection with them both at Ky's wedding and is comfortable with them.  Cowboy slowly starts to earn her trust and she starts to open up to him. but she wants to be the same with Hush but he refuses.  She starts thinking more and more about the three of them but she can't get past Hush's wall.

Sia's past threatens them all.  Hush's past threatens to break him once and for all.  Cowboy wants to heal them both.  He want's them all together as he knows they could all finally find the peace and happiness they yearn for.

Allll the fuckin feels in this book! Seriously!  I think there were about 10 times i was in tears and even more i was on the verge of them.  My heart was run through the wringer so many times i never thought it would fill up again!  Sia made a stupid mistake when she was young and has paid for it ever since but i love how fiesty she still is.  How much fight she has.  It amazed me how after all she went through she was willing to let first Cowboy in first with his Cajun charm and then trusting Hush even though he hadn't let her in she felt his heart.

Cowboy is just the best!  He's got the lot! Charming, gorgeous, strong, caring, and sexy as fucking sin! Gah! I defy anyone not to fall for him!  His relationship with his Hush is the ultimate bromance.  He loves Hush and has since they became best friends years ago.  He feels deep what Hush does.  His guilt of his own past started it but their love keeps him at Hush's side always.  It actually made me teary.  Their relationship is so unique and wonderful it was lovely to read.  Then he was supportive and strong for Sia.  He's like the glue holding them together strong and unbreakable.  I JUST FUCKING LOVE HIM!

Finally Hush... beautiful, broken, loving, lonely but strong.  So bleeding strong but he had to break and i gotta be honest it broke me too.  I cried so many tears for him.  He never felt worthy and i just wanted to wrap him in my arms and love him.  Thankfully Cowboy and Sia do a pretty good job of it so i could finally dry those tears and be happy for the sad broken man.  I floved him so hard.  His battles with his past and the threat to Sia crack him wide open but he fought it hard.  He fought letting them in.  But when he let himself just feel... Wow just freaking WOW! So amazing, so sexy he's become my fave Hangman.  In fact both of them have, him and Cowboy.

All of them together were perfect in my eyes.  I've seen people saying they didn't like MFM and wouldn't read this.  Well i say to them you are seriously missing out.  It isn't wrong.  It isn't cheating.  There isn't any jealousy.  It's quite simply one of the most beautiful relationships you could ever wish to read.  DO NOT MISS OUT!

The storyline was perfectly paced.  From the opening line to the last i was gripped.  It was a real rollercoaster of emotions i didn't want to get off.  Lows and highs and everything in between.  Tillie always finds a way to keep you on your toes and i never saw any of it coming.  I didn't know what was going to happen from one minute to the next.  You can't get a more perfect read than that.  I'm also in awe at the way she handled the sensitive subject in the plot.  It was perfect!

It was great catching up with all the other Hangmen, Ky especially.  I loved his relationship with Sia.  They're finally at a great place in their relationship and this makes me very happy!  Vike as usual provided the laughs.  He cracks me up!  I can't wait till his story!!! There were also some new faces thrown into the mix! A very large and fun Brit named Barnaby Rudge!! I love that name! Then a very dark and troubled Crow.  His story is going to be darkness of epic proportions! Bring it on!!!

5 bazillion gazillion trillion STARS and MOONS and SUNS!!

Read the whole series because its just EPIC!!
