SYNOPSIS:

I was thrilled when I was offered a graduate teaching position at the prestigious Tennerson Girls Academy. At twenty-three, this would be my first ‘real’ teaching assignment. Working at the elite boarding school, home to the daughters of some of the wealthiest people in the world, was a great opportunity that I would’ve been stupid to pass up.

One week into my new job, and I suddenly had no idea why I chose high school…I was a seventeen year old boy once, I knew how teenage girls behaved.

You can’t even imagine the hell of trying to teach thirty, hormonal driven seventeen year olds who have been cooped up, away from any male contact.

I could handle the whispers every time I entered the room. I could even handle the obvious attempts at gaining my attention. What I couldn’t handle was her…

Rich bitches and way too many rules. Was it any wonder that I hated school?

Add to that the lack of male contact, and I was going insane. Like literally. I wasn’t used to this. A year ago I was normal. I had a boyfriend, friends and a loving family. There is nothing normal about me anymore, and nobody here lets me forget that.

My name is Wrenn, and I’m only here because my aunt took me in after what happened, but my aunt also happens to be the headmistress of this academy…Can you see my problem?

I’m hated for my lack of money, and I’m hated for who my Aunt is.

Then he arrived. Dalton Reed. My new history teacher.

Slowly, he helped me see that even in the worst situations, there is always hope.

MY REVIEW:

This isn’t your typical Teacher/Student story. This is more of a sweet romance about two people who have lost a lot but find peace in each other. Dalton and Wrenn’s love may be forbidden but it’s unstoppable.

Dalton doesn’t like to think about the future…he’s scared of what it may hold. He lives his life day by day…doesn’t want a relationship and has never intended on finding love. He’s just graduated college and at 23 begins his career as a substitute teacher at an all-girls private school.

He’s hot, sexy and young…just what every girl attending a private school is lusting over. He’s prepared to fight off all the advances from the girls throwing themselves at him…what he isn’t prepared for is the smart, devoted, focused, and determined Wrenn. She is strong and fights for what she wants. She has suffered a great deal…losing her entire family just a year ago in a horrible car crash. She is all about excelling in her studies. She is determined to get into a good law school and follow her dreams. But she cannot ignore the sweaty palms and flushed face she gets every time she is near the new Mr. Reid.

What could make things more complicated? Oh yeah, her aunt (and guardian) is the headmistress and Dalton Reid’s new boss. However, Wrenn is very lucky to have a best friend that will cover for her whenever she needs. I absolutely loved Kass. She was all kinds of awesome. She was there for Wrenn whenever she needed her. She was supportive and feisty. I instantly loved her.

This story is a lesson on how short life can be. It’s a story that reminds you to live your life to the fullest each and every day. Nobody is guaranteed a forever so concentrate on what you do have instead of what you don’t have.

This story was a bit bittersweet for me. The ending is what you make of it. Some could call it a happy ending…some could say it wasn’t. I’ll leave that up to you to decide. One thing I know is I loved the message this story conveys. It brought me both happiness and tears.

Always You is more way more than a Teacher/Student romance, in fact, to me that kind of took the back burner to other things in the book.

I would have loved for the author to add a little more to the fact that Dalton and Wrenn had met once before during early childhood. And even at the age of seven, she helped him see that no matter how long the future was for him, at least he had one and he shouldn’t live his life looking for the end of it.
