Synopsis

Seven years ago, my life changed forever. One accident and the person I saw in the mirror no longer resembled the woman I used to be. I was lost and confused inside my own body. I felt alone and disconnected from the world, carrying the incredible weight of guilt and loss that wasn't even mine to harbor.

Then fate led me to Leo James. He taught me that crazy could be perfectly normal and it shouldn't hurt to breathe. Don't get me wrong. Leo isn't perfect. He has his own cross to bear, and the truth is, that might be why I fell for him in the first place. But despite everything he does for me, learning to forgive myself is infinitely harder than overlooking the flaws of another.

Now, the secrets and lies of our past have begun to dictate our future—threatening to ruin us before we get the chance to try. Perhaps we were cursed from the start. Or maybe, just maybe, the remnants of our fractured lives will fit together to form one whole, where love isn’t questioned and being happy is…well, easy.

Can a second broken soul be enough to fill the voids of my own? Or will such scarred pasts prove too much for our love alone to overcome?

My Review

Aly Martinez you wreck, ruin me and then put me back together again like no one else!

Holy shit woman, what you do to me!!!

Let’s start with my favourite part of most books…the Prologue. And what a prologue this one is, it’s a heart stopping so beautifully, enticingly vividly written. The prologue to Broken Course acts as a quick reminder for us that yes, you are reading Sarah's story, and oh yes, its sure as hell is going to be an emotionally charged, full of anguish read just in case you had forgotten.

This is after all Sarah’s story.

So in other words, brace yourself folks, you are in for one hell of a crazy delectable, all consuming crazy whirlwind of a ride.

God, what a book! Talk about saving the best for last, this for me, was my favourite in the series.
I can’t stop thinking about it.

After having read the first two in the series I feel as if I've been through the emotional ringer with Sarah Erickson already, I've hated her, felt sorry for her, smiled at her, then hated her again all over again, her character manages to easily evoke an array of emotions, its just insane. I was never really sure whether I truly liked her or not. But then to my surprise by the end of Stolen Course I kind of felt maybe I had been too harsh on her, that maybe I had been wrong in my feelings, and you know what? I WAS!
So now, right at this moment all I feel for Sarah is love…love, happiness, respect and honestly, I am a wee bit in awe of her.

Sarah’s character is amazing! She is crazy, sweet, sexy, beautiful, painfully scarred, compassionate, passionate, funny, and best of all a resilient healer who perseveres despite having been through one hell of a cluster-fuck of crazy within the last 7 years. Despite falling and getting up so many times throughout her journey to self-discovery, forgiveness and healing she’s awe inspiring, especially in the end, to see her finally land on her own two feet.

Not in a long time have I rooted and cheered so hard for a character. Sarah is one hell of an incredible character, she’s simply put magnificent. She's a twisty tunrney character like none I've read before. Aly writes her with this crazy likable quality that I can really only compare to watching a car wreck; it’s like you just can't look away from it, for me Sarah is that accident.
I simply cannot and absolutely do not want to look away.

Sarah is the epitome of the words layers deep. She has so many amazing layers to her that I simply sat back in fascination reading with bated breath, excitement and a curiosity so consuming needing to know exactly how her tumultuous story will eventually play out.

Then there is Leo. Leo is just wow! I loved him in Among the Echoes but here in Broken Course I just completely melted and wilted into a puddle of crazy goo. He's charismatic, insightful, protective and yummy. His character encompasses all of the traits that are sure to make you swoon, smile, cry all the while leaving you hot, bothered and clenching for attention in your nether-regents!
The man is the complete fucking package!! I could not have wished for a better pairing for Sarah than Leo. Love me some Leo James big time!!

The sentences that fall from this man mouth in the throws of passion are seriously hot enough to melt a girls panties right off. Fuck me; Leo James has a dirty mouth so beyond that one would have no choice but to take a trip to nirvana when in his presence!! Aly Martinez, you are a sex scene reader’s wet dream, damn woman the visuals provided by your descriptive writing are formidable and I could not get enough of the hot scenes between Leo and Sarah, together these two have some seriously sizzling chemistry inside and outside of the bedroom.

"Why are you so bold in some moments and timid in others?" he growls, suddenly pushing a rough finger inside me. "Leo," I moan. "Why?" he asks again, pulling out only to add another finger, stretching me almost painfully. Almost. "Because, in some moments, I’m lost in myself, and others, I’m lost in you," I answer as I begin riding his fingers.

Again, it has to be said that without a doubt this was absolutely my favourite in the series!

God, Leo and Sarah are a match made in literary heaven and I'm so thankful that Aly has brought them to life. I felt that as this book moved along Sarah and Leo really came to life, the spark of life reignited for both of them, along with the will to fight in order to finally live a life filled with happiness. Happiness that begins to take shape as a real possibility for both Leo and Sarah, one that begins and ends with one another. Their fight to make this happy life a reality was so gut wrenchingly sad and hard at times but also so heartwarmingly beautiful at others.

I loved watching them embark on and work through the amazing journey that was their relationship. A relationship so strong and deep it helped them both to stand tall in the end not only somewhat healed but with a renewed happiness, a will to live, to fight everyday and possibly even finding their salvation.

"My Leo is still in there, but this is not only the man who is going to make sure I lose myself, but also the man who will ensure that I never want to be found again."

I absolutely fell so madly and deeply in love with the remarkable relationship that was built between these characters. With Leo and Sarah my heart literally swelled with awe and respect for the adversity they have overcome. Talk about resiliency on speed!
The way they supported and healed side-by-side was so incredible that I couldn’t stop reading.

This book is an ignore your life and family kind of read that will suck you in at the prologue, jilt and jolt your emotions along the way, then leave you dying for more pages by its end.
Simply put....I FUCKING LOVED IT!
