Rock Country

Synopsis

Bobby and June were the best of friends as kids. For two years they spent every waking moment together. And just as they started realizing they had potential to be more, Bobby was unexpectedly uprooted to Las Vegas.

Fast forward fifteen years.

Bobby is now a guitar hero of a very successful rock band. June is wasting away, working at a local diner, and married to an abusive man. Devastating events send Bobby back to Texas to deal with some unsettled issues. When he runs into June, she’s all grown up. No longer that blonde haired, pig-tailed little girl—now she’s the Queen of the South with tanned legs, sexy curves, and more beauty than all the groupies combined. Problem is, June is a shell of her former self—that is, until—Bobby brings the spark back into her life.

What happens when a typical bad boy rocker comes across a sad country song? Why, you get the sweet sound of Rock Country.

My Review

Sweet baby Jesus I’m in love!! I m a huge Kristi Webster fan and the first book of this series just solidified why! This book had my heartbreaking and tears forming in the first two chapters. The story she told here is so beautiful. It’s the story of two people who were always meant to be but an unfair decision to split them up was made for them. I love Kristi’s style of writing and being able to see and hear the story from both sides is amazing. My heart broke and was healed by both June and Bobby. Their story is defiantly one that will stick with me for a long time to come and I can’t wait to keep up with their life in the next books, as well as get into the lives of all the other tattooed, badass rockers of The Aces.

June and Booby met when June and her mom moved onto a trailer that Bobby’s parents were renting out on their property. They were instant best friends and owned each others hearts from the beginning. But when Bobby is forced to move at the age of 12, are torn apart and it takes 15 years before they find each other again, brought together by the illness of Bobby’s dad.

The fifteen years that Bobby is gone, finds June marrying a man who belittles her and abuses her. But June always kept a relationship with Mr.Acer(Bobby’s dad). The relationship that they have is one based on the heart wrenching empty whole that Bobby being gone has brought. He was the one that walked her down the aisle to another man that he knew was the wrong one. But through it all every time they saw each other from the time June was 10 till the time Bobby comes back they had the same exchanged that broke my heart every time I read it……

“When’s Bobby comin’home” I asked, my lip trembled like it always did. I could still see Bobby’s mischievous brown eyes looking at mine whenever I closed my eyes, and I missed them.
“One day, June.” The tears in his eyes matched my own”

While June was back in their home town, just going through the motions, Bobby was moving on in Vegas with his music career. His friend and him got signed by Sony and were living the highlife of rock gods. But through it all he always thought about his “June Bug”. He even got a tattoo of a beetle on his hand to remember her and promised himself that one day he would find her again. But life has a funny way of getting away from you and he never did go back until his dad falls ill and he finds out he has been living life in a lie that was told to him.

“When I go to open the door, my eyes catch on my first tattoo—the tattoo I got as a reminder of my friend June.”

When Bobby and June meet up for the first time after 15 years the feelings are undeniable. It was like they were never apart and fall into the friendship and love they have been caring around for each other all these years. The only problem is life is never picture perfect and June needs to learn to trust and shake off her abusive ex and Bobby needs to build the relationship with a father that was kept from him, while battling his own demons. But Bobby in all his sexiness knows one thing he needs to catch his “June Bug”.

“First order of business—quit smoking. Second order of business—start running agin. Third order of business—catch my June Bug.”

My hat is off to Kristi for bringing the sweet and sassy June and the very hot tattooed, pierced rocker Bobby. I can’t wait to read Chaz and Donnie’s stories because I have a serious crush and soft spot for both of them, especially Donnie.

About the Author
K. Webster

I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd. Married for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children. Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader. However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer. Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end. My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right!

By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter. (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo. I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)

I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet. At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book. Every single time, she caved when I begged for two. Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books.

Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete. It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.

Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer. It’s my life. If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom! But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive.
Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series. I’m nearly finished with the third. Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well.
This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way. I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them. I look forward to connecting with you all!
