My Review

Sweet Jesus is right!

I literally have no words to start this review so I’m just going to let it pour out and you get what you get. 

First of all I CANNOT BELIEVE I WAITED! 

What in the H… E… Double L… Was. I. Thinking! 

I am not a really big fan of cliffhangers and I have had Driven in my library since it came out but after I found out there were more books I waited to read it. You will not believe how much flack I got from people for waiting…all calling me crazy. I was just like, whatever, it’s a book with a hot guy and I’ll get to it.

Well NO! Dumbest decision of my book reading life. Seriously, what was I thinking?

Colton Donavan does NOT deserve to be treated that way. I mean yeah, the guy has issues but seriously, I could have at least given him what he deserves and read him and read him... over and over again until I maybe got him out of my system. But NO, I waited. I strongly advise you NOT to WAIT if you are even a little curious as to whom this sexy bad boy is. Take the words from Rylee’s best friend Haddie “ Don’t think about it…just do it! Be reckless, Let your hair down.” No truer words have been spoken.

So Rylee is this girl who is more on the proper side, she’s responsible and sweet, but she has had a tough few years and cannot bring herself to open up.

Until one day she gets locked in a storage closet and when the door opens she finds herself in the arms of the tall, dark, sexy as hell man who has her brain swimming in a pile of mush. Well they end up kissing….wait…no, not just kissing…consuming each other, devouring each other. Her body is betraying her mind and she can’t get enough. That is until she hears two words from that sweet smirking mouth “Sweet Jesus.” They freeze her in her tracks. Where has she heard those before? Oh, that’s right, a few minutes ago, from a guy who had a woman pushed up against the wall who was moaning “Oh God”. Any guess on who that man was?

Hahahahaha, Yeah talk about a bucket of cold water. Pushing away from Colton and after an intense exchange of words, Rylee runs off and returns to her job duties hosting a benefit. 

“You’re lucky I don’t drag you back in that storage closet I found you in and take what you offered. Make you cry out my name.” He nips softly at my ear, and I have to stifle the uncontrollable moan of desire that threatens to escape. “To fuck you and get you out of my system. Then move on,” he finishes. 

Next thing she knows, she’s on stage and being auctioned off as a date for charity. Hmmm…any guess on who the lucky winner is? Yep, Colton Freaking Donavan pays for a date with her. Well, that’s just too bad for him because she refuses. Oh, she will take his money for the benefit but if he thinks that she is just going to drop her panties and fall at his feet because he “purchased” her… he has another thing coming. Rylee and Colton’s back and forth banter is hilarious. They are so intense but fun and playful at the same time. 

Colton Donavan is a smokin’ hot, sexy as hell race car driver and CEO of CD Enterprises. He does not take lightly to people telling him "NO"…or to insults. And he just met a woman who gives him both. Rylee is a spitfire and he cannot get enough of her. She refuses to go on a date with him (despite having spent $25,000 on her), and he doesn’t like it. He gives her 24 hours to make a decision before taking matters into his own hands. And boy does he. 

“Presumptuous, aren’t you, Ace? 

No doubt your typical MO is to fuck ’em and chuck ’em?” 

Rylee finds herself weakening towards Colton. She decides (with the help of Haddie) to just go for it. Enjoy it while it lasts. He can show her a good time and give her some of the best and most intense sex humanly possible. So she does. But when truths come out, she feels betrayed and used. Can Rylee agree with some of Colton’s lifestyle choices and continue their relationship or will his admission tear them apart?

“As much as I’d like to warn you away from me, Rylee— for your own sake,” he murmurs inches from my mouth, “all I crave is the taste of you...It’s been too long since I’ve savored you. 

You. Are. Intoxicating.”

“Why are you warning me,” I breathe, completely immobilized by the intensity of his stare, “when you’re going to take what you want anyway?” I see his grin flash momentarily before his lips are on mine, his hands on me, proving my point and then some. 

I don’t know why I was surprised at what happened. It wasn’t all that shocking to me because I kind of guessed about some things from the beginning but it was. I think I was more shocked by how each of them reacted. My heart broke for both of them. They have both been through so much and their chemistry together is out of this world but Rylee needs to protect her heart and Colton only knows one way of life. Will they be able to make a compromise and explore whatever is going on between them? Or will secrets and fears keep them apart? They both know that if they give in to this temptation…someone will end up shattered…but is it worth the risk?

“Make what official?” My mind flickers trying to figure out what I’m missing. “That you’re mine.” Colton’s breath flutters over my face as the look in his eyes swallows me whole. “Once I fuck you, Rylee— it’s official, you’re mine and only mine.” 

Oh. Fucking. My.

“Don’t you feel it, Rylee? This—” he says gesturing a hand between him and I, 

“this charge we have here? The electricity we have when we’re together is way too strong to ignore.” 

The ending… seriously… Heart </3 Broken. That was just so sad. My heart is in my throat. I will be started Fueled immediately and then waiting a long 41 days for Crashed!

K. Bromberg is absolutely amazing. She is the queen of build-up and when it happens… just one word comes to mind…FIREWORKS! This story is super-hot, but it’s more than that. There is a real story that will cause real emotion in you. 

Psh!!!….200 miles around a racetrack is nothing compared to what this book will put you though. Your adrenaline will be pumping, your heart stopping, and your nerves will be shot. 

And most of all…YOU WILL LOVE EVERY FREAKING MOMENT OF IT!!!!!!!!!
