Synopsis
Tate & Low's story.
I'm loud, I'm proud, and I like to bust balls in my spare time.
At least, that's what Low Parker would do. But she is just a mask, one I have perfected over years of running.
I am Willow Knoxx. Master of deception, secrets, and lies.
I am the girl your mother told you to stay away from, and the girl your father fantasized about. I have been running for years, always looking over my shoulder.
Now, the mask I have perfected is about to disappear, and everything I have done to keep myself hidden is about to be revealed.
My Review
Secrets, big secrets, lies, so many
lies, two hundred and one little lies to be exact. For the last 6 years Willow
Knoxx has been wearing a mask, a mask in the form of Low Parker. But no matter
how hard she tries to keep up the façade of Low Parker, the mask is cracking,
cracking because of the amazing friendships and most of all because of the love
she as found in Tate James, her best friends brother.
This is the story of one girls’
journey to find balance between the life she wants and the life she needs to
leave behind. And the journey is incredibly captivating and I honestly couldn’t
stop reading this book because I needed to know what the hell was going to
happen.
Low Parker is living a new
life…well trying to anyway; she’s run away from a life of danger and
unthinkable violence. She’s in college and has made some amazing friendships,
she is happy, but still feels the need to keep everyone at arms length as the underlying
threats are always lingering. Let me tell you that it’s a good thing that Low/Willow
lives her life this way because as soon as she lets her guard down a little, her
past is there threatening to come back with a vengeance. A past that will force
her to go back to a place she wants nothing to do with.
Despite being a great book it is a
bit of a heavy read, I will be honest and say that I do feel it lagged a bit
and took a while to get to the action. And I definitely could have gone for more sex
scenes between Low and Tate! Yummy Tate!
That being said I think that Low is
one of the strongest female characters I’ve read about in a while. This girl is
one tough cookie!
I found the writing of Low’s character
wonderful. She was able to be funny and offer some great one-liners, all the
while maintaining her kick ass attitude. I really felt Low’s struggle to make
the right decisions in order to protect those she cared about, she’s so
completely loyal to Tate and her friends I just wanted her to let them in so
they could support her. But I understood why she didn’t.
Tate! Oh the hotness that is Tate!
I just loved listening to his alpha-ness and seeing how patient and sooo sweet
he is with Low throughout the book. And of course the amazing selfless act of
love he does in order to save his ladylove! *sigh* I wish we would have
had more from his POV, but this is totally Low’s amazing battle, and what a
battle it was. I was really happy with how the story played out and ended.
I totally paper heart Tate and Low!
And…I loved loved loved getting to
catch up with Neva and Logan! So happy for them too!
