Fate is just a made-up word used to give us hope or absolution. We find hope when we believe bad things happen to us for a reason. We find absolution when we feel as though the wrongs of our past were just fate’s twisted design to bring us to our present, and all of it was out of our hands.
Of course, I sort of change my mind after meeting Axle. The man with scars and haunted, cold eyes. The man who only warms when he is around me. The first man I believe won’t cost me my life. The first man I’ve ever believed to actually be honorable, despite the fact he’s a ruthless criminal.
Only the craziest of fates could have put us in the paths of each other. More of a collision course, really.
Life gets complicated. Shit happens. And I sort of fall harder than I thought possible.
The first time we met, I was in my pajamas and cowering on the floorboard of his SUV, hiding from my very insane brother. Lovely first impression, I assure you.
The second time we met, I was literally skating around a bunch of corpses, because I’m slightly crazy like that. Long story.
Obviously my second impression had just as much impact as my first. Because he fell head-over-heels in love with me in that instant.
Kidding. That last part is complete bullshit. Axle is far more complicated than insta-love nonsense. Which is one of my favorite things about him.
Everything about us is perfectly complicated and wonderfully disastrous.
It’s what every girl dreams of…as long as they’re as crazy as I am.
And I’m just crazy enough to hold on, because I don’t mind being the psycho chick in roller skates, who is flipping fate the bird when it tries to intervene again. It’s just one of my quirks. Turns out, I’m Axle’s brand of crazy too.
Life should be really freaking interesting. Or catastrophic. Or psychopathic.
I guess it depends on how much madness you can embrace.

I love me a strong funny heroine - yes one of those!
I love me a twisted tale of an MC, death, torture, and betrayal - Umm yeah pretty twisty deadly torturous and betrayally <--- not a word but whatevs!
I love me some strong, funny, amazing supporting characters who will get their own book - wooo hooo yes they will!!!
I also love an unconventional love story - yes yes yes in here!!
Ok so now I've got my tick list in an MC book done. This is Axle's story.
Dark brooding and downright scary Axle is the dark one. The one who shows no emotion. Horrifically scarred he's used to people being scared of him. The only attachments he has are to his club and brothers. He's supporting his Prez with all he has since the split in the club. He'll do whatever it takes to keep them on top. He has no room for anything else and he knows he'll never have anything more. That is until he helps rescue a girl who's hiding in his car.
Maya's life is currently in chaos. Family are out to kill her and take her inheritance. She's trying to stop a sex trafficking ring along with trying to help run one of the four families. She's dealing with all this as well as dealing with grieving the death of her parents. As soon as she sets eyes on Axle she gets an immediate reaction. He's not a pretty boy, he's a survivor and his voice to her is pure sex. His eyes hold her captive. She's a little crazy and decides he's safe for her. She offers the MC a job as she needs all the help she can get. They decline the job and Sarah takes her in. Months later Sarah takes her back to the club for her own reasons throwing Axle and Maya together again.
I won't say too much more but... it's not hearts and flowers and rainbows but it's honest, crazy and roller skate-tastic.
I Flove Axle!! He's just so... i mean... broody... and ummm.. sexy... and unintentionally funny... and strong... and badass!!! He's sooooo YUM!!! He's a little bit broken. He's a little bit hard hearted. But underneath oooohhh emmmm geeeeeee what a man!! I'm in love!!! He doesn't do soft but what he does do is understated. He doesn't have to say sweet nothings he shows it with his body and woo hoo what a bod!
I flove Maya. She's so... umm i have a lady crush... she's funny... and joyful... whatever the circumstances she adapts. She's HOT! Underneath it all she want's someone to depend on. Someone who makes her feel safe and warm. Someone who won't betray her. I love her special brand of cray cray. Let the bodies hit the floor!!! LOL she really is nuts but it's a good type of random nuts.
Together? Oohhhhh yeah!!! Just magical! Maya wasn't backwards in coming forwards with what she wants and once Axle realizes she's the real deal he gladly obliges her!! OOOH Holy shower banging!!! *Insert goofy grin* read it and you'll get my grin reference. It's my fave scene!!! She definitely earned it.
The story gripped me from the get go. There's action and torture and plot twists you won't see coming. I also love the continuing story-line from Property of Drex of Philip and Drex's dad Herrin. Also the saga between Jude and Sarah!! I can't wait for their story!!! it's gonna be a long old tease before their book.
The writing as always with this author is top notch! She's just flippin brilliant!
All the supporting characters add hugely to the story. Jude and Sarah, Drake, Rush, Colleen, Sledge are all unraveling their own stories along the way.
I love a good series. A good series makes you desperate for the next book. It makes you care about people that are on the outside of the book you're reading but you want to know them anyway. This book. This series so far. All that and sooo much more! If you have never read an MC book before these are the ones for you!
Can't recommend this book, or this series high enough. 50 million MC stars! ok nope scrap that. 100 million... noooooo ok Infinity stars!!! yep that's better!
