***RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW*** War Hope by LP Lovell & Stevie J Cole writing as Nicole Lynn

I followed my best friend to London thinking it would be an adventure full of excitement and bright lights, only to find myself in a shitty little corner of the city.

I'm now immersed in a world of bad boys and dirty fights.

My saviour complex is stretching to Finn West. He's dark, mysterious, grouchy, and a fighter. I can't help but want to push his buttons and see if I can crack that surly frown into a smile.

Maybe the connection I feel with him is real, or perhaps it's just the fanatical imaginings of a lonely girl, wanting a lonely boy. After all, who wants to be alone?

I just want to be left alone, stick to my routine, but no. Hope McGrath sure as hell can't let that happen.

I like order, control, I need it. She's like a tornado of sheer chaos, trying to rock my very structured life on it's foundations. She annoys the shit out of me on a daily basis, but somehow, I've come to enjoy her dragging me to her weekly bingo outings.

No matter how gnarly I am, she always comes back for more with her long legs and her loud mouth.

I don't need her in my life, even if I find myself thinking about her, her lips, her body...I don't need her.

This is not what anyone expected!

After War Poppy put me into a month long grieving period (ok that's a lie I'm still not over it) this one put the biggest sheet kicking smile on my face! I'm a little shook up! It's always risky business reading these two cause well... they're a pair of squirrels. You could get pitch black. You could get ugly cry. You could get contemporary. What did we get here?!?!?! Freaking rom-com!! #GobSmacked

This is Hope and Finn.

Set not long after War Poppy, Hope is living in a flat just above Poppy helping whenever she can with baby Patrick. She's also keeping an eye on everyone else. Hope likes to fix people. She likes helping in her own sarcastic way, she make a nuisance of herself wherever she goes but in Finn's words she's a stray cat no one can say no to.

Hope has her own problems that she hides well behind her fun upbeat personality. Underneath she has a whole set of insecurities and she guards her heart.

Finn has to have order. He likes his calm quiet life because if there's chaos he loses control, and he can't ever do that again. After the war he's learnt to control everything in his life but it came after he lost something first.

I won't say more. I know that's a little vague but i don't want to give any plot away. And no it doesn't sound like a rom-com but it so is!!

This book is a slow smouldering burn. It's so delicious in it's burn that by the time they get it together you are about to combust!! The chemistry is there from the start but both of them are in denial. They're just friends... right?!?!?! course they're not!!! lol

Finn is kinda like a grumpy old man. Hope is the exact opposite. Yin and Yang. But slowly... slowly.... slowly... the grumpy old man begins to lighten up. Then they both begin to share... then... BINGO!!!!! LOL

There some ridiculously funny moments in here that had me crying with laughter. So much so i actually re-read a few scenes whilst i was reading it because they were so funny. Hope's friend Doris is an absolute scream! I love her!!!

My fave part? This :-

"You know Finnley, most people respond. Bye. I had a great time. Thanks for the naked spoon..."

And the scowl is back. "I didn't ask you to spoon me"

"So you're calling spoon rape?"

bahahahahahahhahaha this had me laughing all night!!!

I loved this book! War Poppy will forever be in my heart but so will this one for very different reasons. There is some angst in here. There was always going to be but with Hope as the heroine there was always going to be laughs too. A whole heap of laughs.

It was great to see everyone else in here too. Larry and Kyan and Poppy. They all add to the story.

As usual with these authors the story keeps you gripped from the first word to the last. It's unexpected and unpredictable which is what keeps me coming back for more from them.

I think you could read this as a standalone but if you haven't read War Poppy i would a gazillion percent recommend you read it. Its not a light hearted read. Its a break you heart and rip your soul out read but i can guarantee you will never forget it.

As for this one? You won't forget it for a whole other reason. This book will bring you laughs galore and make you smile huge!!! Brilliant!

Love and war. Two words that should have little association, but to me the two go hand in hand. Both are a tragedy. They rip you open and spit you out. The war killed my husband, Connor, shattered my will to live, and took my best friend. Brandon may not have physically died in that war, but his soul did. And now we're left to pick up the wreckage. Expected to move on when all that is left is the ruins of a life we once had.

War. It took everything from me, even myself. When you're only able to exist, death seems like a blessing. Pain...a welcome distraction. I ran from everything associated with my past, and then she found me, fighting, drowning myself in whisky, trying to forget. She reminds me of Connor, of what I've lost—what we've lost. In the midst of destruction, she's a salvation I don't deserve.
I shouldn't love him.
I shouldn't love her.
Love is a war we never should have fought.

Stevie J. Cole lives deep in the woods of Alabama with her husband and two precious daughters. She studied Epidemiology concentrating on cancer research but has always had a passion for writing. Some of her stories will strip you bare, some will give you nightmares, but the one thing she can promise is that she will always give you stories that make you feel.
Raw. Gritty. Love.
Because sometimes characters need to be flawed.

P.S. Stevie's greatest fear is the impending zombie apocalypse. Think about it: swarming armies of decaying, oozing corpses stumbling around with clicking teeth, trying to eat your face. Nothing about that is good. NOTHING!
