  Synopsis

Once Rose Fisher makes a decision, that’s it. End of story.

Like when her ex, Patrick, dumped her out of the blue, then showed up with a super hot, tatted up sex kitten on his arm. Then it was over for good. The end. Poof. Dead to her. Except he was everywhere — down the hall, at the bar with their friends, worming his way into her dreams.

But with their friends paired off, they’re left alone more and more. Rose is determined to keep him friendzoned — doesn’t matter that he stares at her with a smolder that drops all panties in a ten foot radius. She’s over him, and she’ll prove it by getting back into the dating game, Patrick be damned.

Patrick Evans is no stranger to consequences. When your mother walks out, your dad drifts away. When you leave home, you’re on your own. And when you run away from the girl you love, you lose her. He finally has an opportunity to rebuild the bridge he burned, and it’s not one he’ll take for granted. But he’ll have to fight for her, even if it hurts. Even if it means he’ll walk away brokenhearted. Because deep down, he knows that she’s it for him.

The trick will be to get her to admit she feels it too.

My Review

Finally Tricky and Rose landed on my Kindle! I've been waiting for these two to figure their relationship out since book 1. With the baggage they had, I kept my fingers and toes crossed that they'd realize how perfect they were for each other and stop being so stubborn. And while it took a bit for them to let go of their hurt, when they did, their story was filled with so much sweetness.

Rose and Patrick dated after being friends first. They started their relationship with the caveat that if either wasn't feeling it anymore, they'd call it off with no hard feelings so that they wouldn't ruin their friendship. That obviously didn't work when Patrick got scared of his feelings for Rose. He called it off and within 24 hours brought another date to their bar Habits. Heartbroken, it took Rose months to even be able to look at Patrick again which made being friends difficult.

7 months later and they aren't doing much more than tolerating each other for their friends' sake. In reality neither is really over the other one. Patrick just doesn't know how to break though the 1o foot wall Rose has around her heart. When Rose realizes that for the last month Patrick has been sleeping in her apartment in Lily's room without her knowledge, she's furious. Not because she's really mad that Tricky is sleeping in Lily's unused bed, but because if she doesn't put space between her and Tricky, she knows she'll give in. When they come to a truce, Rose starts trying to date again and Tricky becomes a regular fixture in Rose's life again despite her protests. Tricky and Rose have to figure out if they can make do as friends or if they can try for what they really want-eachother.

This is my favorite book in the series. I fell in love with these two early on in the series. They bring both humor and heart to the pages that filled this story. Watching Rose try to start dating again gave me the laughs I expected and watching Tricky try to overcome the hole he dug himself left me rooting for him. Of course their stubbornness made me a bit twitchy at times because I just wanted them to love each other already for goodness sake. But Staci gave me the ending the series deserved and for that, I am ever so thankful.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom; she has three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife; even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
