Synopsis

The first book in a sensational New Adult trilogy from Noelle August

Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

My Review

You know those times when you’ve woken up after a night of drunken debauchery to find yourself in a stranger's bed? And how you’re left feeling a wee bit AWKARD, to say the least? Well imagine waking up in a strangers bed, not remembering the guys name, being late for your new internship, and let’s say on top of that you can’t seem to find all your clothes...mainly your underwear.  Well welcome to Mia’s morning in the beginning of Boomerang. From the first page I was smiling at the situation playing out in chapter 1.

As luck would have it aspiring film maker Mia has been granted a very coveted internship at the dating service boomerang.com, while this is an amazing opportunity and should no doubt leave her with her dream job by the end of the internship there is one huge obstacle standing in her way.

Meet the hot specimen of a man that is Ethan Vance, Ethan is a recent college grad with a ton of student loans, who is also hoping that his internship at boomerang.com will lead to a job that will help him pay his way though law school.

Did I mention that this internship was only supposed to be for one person?

Or that,

Ethan and Mia just happen to ride in together in the same cab? Ending up at the same place? Oh right that’s because I forget to mention that they just woke up together literally minutes ago!

AWKARD!

LOL, talk about a great way to grab a reader's attention. I was hooked from the first page!

So now we have the very well acquainted Mia and Ethan showing up at Boomerang for the same internship. Here, they learn that they are both competing for the same job and of course will be working closely together. Which is awesome for them because they just happen to have some off the charts crazy sexy chemistry going on, and both clearly would like to see one another again. Oh but wait,  of course Boomerang has a strong no fraternization rule, thus putting a huge damper on things.

What follows is an amazing read that shows Mia and Ethan trying to avoid the obvious feelings that they have for each other.  However, as the laws of attraction would have it, the more time they spend together the more Mia and Ethan realize they have in common.  Of course their attraction only gets stronger, as does their sexual tension and chemistry as the book goes on and it's clear that these two cannot avoid each other for much longer.

I loved reading this story from the perspectives of both Mia and Ethan, I especially loved Ethan with his inner struggles to try and keep himself as well as his hands away from Mia.  He shares some his wickedly dirty thoughts with us, and I love every one!

Her incredible violet smell invades my nose and throws my body into immediate chaos. Heat shoots though me, and I'm suddenly doing everything I can not to think about how good she feels against me.

These two are simply perfect for each other and have honestly such a strong magnetic attraction that I couldn’t have been cheering for them any harder. I just wanted them to get it on and be together already! Screw the no fraternization policy already!!!!! Thank goodness there are a few slip ups along the way to keep us tied over, until the part where they FINALLY give in!

“I brush her lips with mine. This isn’t our first kiss, but it sure as hell feels that way, and it seems important, somehow, to be tender with her.”

“You feel incredible, Mia,” I say.
But the truth is she feels fucking perfect.

This book is simply an adorably fun, flirty, lighthearted read with just the right amount of a swoon factor as told though the eyes of both Mia and Ethan. It that has tons of witty banter, blushing moments and of course a few hot hot scenes to keep a girl reeled in wanting more and more of sexy Ethan and Mia.

It’s been a long time since I read a book that was just down right fun to read. The writing is perfect and the book just flowed so well that I couldn’t believe I read all 57 chapters in two sittings, and trust me it didn’t drag at all the story just moved along at a steady pace and as a bonus we meet some great characters along the way, that I hope to read about in the near future (Yummy Adam!)

This book is the perfect summer read! I highly recommend it!

About the Author

NOELLE AUGUST is an anagram for Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger. Just kidding, it's a pen name!

VERONICA ROSSI is the author of the New York Times Best-selling UNDER THE NEVER SKY trilogy for young adults. The books are available in more than thirty countries and the film rights have been optioned by Warner Bros.

Veronica completed undergraduate studies at UCLA and lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons. She is fond of dresses with pockets, fluffy dogs, and cheese and chocolate -- but not together.

LORIN OBERWEGER began her storytelling career by captivating her first-grade class with tales of her summers on a kibbutz in Israel.

Lorin had never been to Israel.

While teacher/parent night put an end to her first experiments in fiction, she’d already caught the bug and eventually made a career of all things story.

As a long-time independent editor and story development guru, Lorin's client successes range from small press publications to major bestselling novels. She's an award-winning author and has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times.

Oh, she did get to see a kibbutz, eventually, and found out she had it pretty much right all along.

Veronica and Lorin met at a writing workshop and just knew they were destined to create awesome things together.
