My Review
Always Rayne is
the first book that I’ve read by Sierra Avalon, and it will not be my last! I
am especially interested in continuing to follow the characters introduced in
Always Rayne.
This is the story
of a sweet and pretty innocent girl named Harper Leigh. Harper, is a recent
college grad starting her career in reporting and journalism for an on line
magazine called Chatter. She isn’t crazy outgoing or into hooking up with random
guys, Harper is actually described as being a kind of hippy librarian, who
prefers books to dating and not taking guys for a test drive, as her bestie
Brooke describes is what she should be doing.
Little does Harper
know that after attending the Always Rayne concert with Brooke, her life is
about to get all kinds of exciting! Thanks to her awkward backstage encounter
with the brooding and beyond sexy lead signer himself…Nic Rayne.
Nic Rayne, is the
super sexy womanizing rock star/actor, who feels he may just have met his
match with Harper, probably the only girl to ever turn the hottie rocker down.
The moment these two connect I was totally grinning, Haper just completely
dismisses him and gives him a list of all the reasons he doesn’t stand a chance
with her.
I loved this scene;
I could just see the sexy rock star smirking at the sweet and innocent Harper,
the cogs turning in his head thinking…challenge accepted! lol
Game on!…Of course
the next day harper is called into her boss’s office where she is given an
ultimatum that will change her life. Either join the band Always Rayne for the
last 10 days of their tour, in order to write an expose or be fired. So with
her hand being tied, she accepts the offer and now the story really begins!
I loved reading
about Haper as she adjusts to the crazy rock star life full of drinking, sex
and more sex, and of course her trying to avoid a certain lead signer who has
made it more than clear that she is most definitely on his radar.
Nic is just sooo
incredibly hot and so so cocky! I really wished there had been some of his POV
in the book, I would like to know what he was thinking at times. I just love
stories when the guy becomes so smitten over a girl that he shows just how
sweet he can actually be. Nic is no exception and trust me he will have you
swooning so bad at times with the things he does and says.
I was so engaged in Haper and Nic’s story as
they find their way to each other and discover that they really are sooo perfect
for one another. Of course there are issues that arise and it seems like Harper
takes forever to give in, but it’s the perfect quick and dirty read, with the
right amount of angst and sexiness.
I really thought
the book was well written and that the chemistry between the characters was so
realistic I couldn’t stop reading. I just couldn’t wait for Nic and Harper to
get it on! And oh my when they finally do its HOT!
My only complaint
is that I wish it had of been longer! I cannot wait to read about the other
band members…I hate waiting, want them now!
