MY REVIEW
That the first thing I though after reading The Intern Vol.1 by Brooke Cumberland! I’m quickly becoming a huge fan of the serial genre and Ms. Cumberland is a huge reason for that.
The Intern is the crazy hot story of a young 18 year old girl named Ceci who goes undercover as an intern at Leighton Enterprises in order to get answers, answers to questions that have been plaguing her and her for family for years!
What starts off as a simple and straightforward mission quickly gets derailed once Ceci starts working Saturdays with the uber hot and oh sooo sexy CEO Bentley Leighton himself as her boss!
From the minute these two meet the sparks fly I swear! I just instantly wanted them to get it on! The sexual chemistry between these two is so magnetic, as a reader you can feel the pull they have toward each other and the innuendos are enough to make a girl blush! I loved reading Bentley trying to fight his attraction and want for Ceci to no avail. When they finally give in, its some of the sexiest, and oh so hot descriptive sex that I’ve read about in a long time! *fanning myself
The idea that such a taboo romance could develop made this book all the more appealing! I loved the age difference and the feeling of nervousness I had at Ceci getting busted! Aside from the hot assed love affair blossoming I thought that this book had depth and a plot that definitely has me wanting to read more. I enjoyed the air of suspense that seems to be lurking within this series and I’m chomping at the bit at the cliffy we have been left with!
I cannot wait to keep reading to see where this story goes!
It’s finally here!! Yay! And of course I’m totally consumed once again! We start volume 2 right where we left off and I’m thinking Oh No! He’s going to find her under his desk and loose it! But of course our Ceici is cleaver and manages to divert his attention for now.
Jesus! Holy, way to open a book! Talk about instant skyrocketing heat meter Batman!!!
I love when a book jumps right into it with some smokin’ hot sex! And Ms. Cumberland is a woman after my own heart. Already I’m all hot and bothered by 7%!! Oh man, that Bentley is complete sex personified let me tell you!
Their sexual compatibility continues to be insane in Vol. 2 and I just can’t get enough of these two!
Aside from the mouthwatering sexual encounters we continue to delve deeper in the story. We see how hard Bentley is working to overcome his trust issues as he wants so much to trust Ceci, but continues to struggle with the feeling she’s hiding something. We also get to see Ceci’s own internal battle, as she is clearly developing strong feelings for Bentley and the idea of betraying him weighs heavy on her mind.
It quickly becomes obvious that this is more than an inter office affair, I’m still so loving this taboo office romance! And I am soooo hoping that as their feelings and relationship grow so does Bentley’s ability to not loose his shit completely when Ceci’s secret is finally revealed! I’m sitting here on pins and needles waiting for that bomb to go off. At this point I feel Ceci should just come clean, but of course I know she won’t, so here I sit cringing and waiting.
Eeeeppp! This final book of The Intern was a bit different than I was expecting but so so good. It picks up right where the Intern 2 left off.Bentley is shocked to learn Ceci's true idenity and feels so betrayed and used from her lies. He cannot believe he let it happen again, let another woman take advantage of him to gain information. Throughout this book, Bentley struggles with his career choices as well as continues to battle his feelings for Ceci.
I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Bentley. Seriously, he is not like the typical Alpha males that we usually read about. He is not the playboy partying type who drowns himself in women and booze when he is going through rough times. But at the same time he is still strong and dominating. He is the perfect mix of everything I love in a leading male character,
Ceci is wrecked. She is sickened and sad with the way things have turned out. She knows she deserved everything she got but it still hurts. Bentley was her first real love and she doesn't know how to let that go
This book takes you though several years of Bentley and Ceci's lives. We see their struggles to move on and get over one another. The mystery of Ceci's dad brings them together in an effort to find out the true story of her past but they are both still so hurt and bitter...the only thing left to say is "goodbye."
Then, after a chance meeting several years after the inital "breakup", Ceci and Bentley see each other again but things have changed. Ceci has seemed to move on but Bentley can't seem to do the same. The intensity and chemistry between the two is explosive and there is no denying it.
They both need to make choices where they stand with one another. They can't seem to stay away from each other but it's too late for them to be anything more than just...friends.
This book was an unexpected twist for me in some ways but all in all it was a great conclusion to their story. I am so sad to see this series end. I am not ready to say goodbye to Bentley and Ceci yet. Their forbidden romance is one of my favorites.

God, I LOVE BENTLEY! He is the perfect blend of sexy,
forceful, dominate an of course that mix of sweet that makes my pulse rush! The
way he opens up and shares his thoughts and feelings with Ceci as the book
progresses kills me and I just want to smack Ceci (even thought I love her too)
because I know what’s coming for him.
Volume 2 has completely captivated and sucked me in! Ceci
and Bentley have quickly become one of my favourite all time couples to read
about! Again, I will say it; this shit is book crack and I need
full-length novels to fill my addiction!!! I love their
witty banter, the palpable sexual chemistry and fuuuccck they have the hottest
sex!!! I’m so pissed it’s over and again we are left with a huge cliffhanger
that is KILLING me!!
