Awww…Ceci and Bentley Leighton.
Life is always full of many twists and turns but for Bentley and Ceci, they never seem to stop. Especially with Bentley in the spotlight, the press is always looking for that next big piece of gossip.
Now our lives are a breathing nightmare. I don’t feel secure anymore. It feels as if our safe little bubble has been popped, and there’s no way to get back in.
Our security blanket has been ripped from underneath us, and the only way to surface is to go through the agony and pain of what’s to come.
This book was a bit different than the rest of the series for me. Bentley is extremely sweet and compliant in After The Internship. We did start to see him acting that way toward the end of Volume three, right before he was going to ask Ceci to marry him and it continues on throughout this book. But then again, he has always been a bit sweeter than the normal alpha-male character so it really wasn't a surprise. Nevertheless, I loved him just as much as I always have.
Ceci is just trying to find a happy medium where she can support Bentley and his dreams but also fulfill her own needs and desires. But through all the ups and downs they go through in this book, one thing remains the same- they love each other with everything they are.
Between the media trying to create drama, old exes reemerging and trying to reconnect and cause problems for the happy couple, they have a lot to work through. But that is nothing new for Bentley and Ceci and they eventually do get their HEA and I could not be happier with the way their story ends.
Congrats to Brooke Cumberland on such an amazing novella series. Absolutely in love with it. Thank you for giving them the ultimate HEA they deserve.
