My Review
After reading Tempt My Heart by Danielle Jamie, I
seriously needed a few days to process what I had just read. I finished this
book in honestly 2 sittings, which tells you something when it’s a 400 page
read!
Not since reading My Skylar by Penelope Ward has a book
left me feeling Verklempt and honestly a bit speechless! Here goes, I hope I
can do this book justice with my review!
I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK!!! That being said, I need to note that this
book comes with a WARNING that you
honestly need to heed.

God this Prologue…
as soon as I read it, I knew this book was going to consume me. I’m a sucker
for the prologue, I honestly feel that a great prologue is what sets the tone
and mood for the book, if it doesn’t grab my attention from the get go, then I
tend to loose interest fast.
This prologue had
me tearing up, but not just a little tear, nope full on tears along with those
annoying nose twitches and burning sensations all by the third paragraph!
(See sucker for a good prologue!)
The story is told
in the reflective voice of Brittan for the first 15 chapters and let me tell
you there were times when I wasn’t sure I could keep on reading. But at the
same time, there was no friggin’ way I was voluntarily putting my Kindle down
either!
The writing is
perfect! Ms. Jamie, has a immense talent for writing so descriptively that I
honestly felt like I was a part of the book. I was totally wrapped up in this
story like a blanket on a cold day! LOL! There were never times where I felt it lagged or skipped ahead, the story just flows from start to finish. Did I
mention it’s 400 pages? That is talent my friend!
The story begins
with Brittan sharing her past with us; a past so filled with love and promise with
the amazing man that is Cane. God, reading about Cane and Brittan and how they
fell in love, his alpha-ness, their ups and downs all the while getting to relish
in the hotness of their relationship was incredible!
Then it
happens!!!!!!! The part that breaks Brittan’s heart into a billion pieces, along with honestly every woman’s who reads this book’s heart too.
While deployed over
seas Cane is killed. HOLLY SHIT the ugly crying that ensues in the chapters
following seriously had me beyond ugly crying. It was so bad that both my son
and husband asked me if I was okay! You know when you cry and you kind of
hyperventilate?? Well that’s exactly what I sounded like.
I’m not going to
get into what happens to Brittan after Cane’s death because YOU NEED TO READ
IT, to experience her journey. And I hate spoilers!
But don’t worry
because there is light…Light in the name of Jordon Valentine!
Best last name
ever for him, as he is a heart healer!
Jordon is part of
the band that will be touring with Brittan and her band Beyond Redemption. I
know I didn’t mention that she was in a famous band but to me it wasn’t
important, until now.
From the moment
these to meet the chemistry and sexual compatibility is palpable and dripping
from the pages. Despite neither looking for any time of relationship, they give
us one of the hottest and sexiest journeys into love that I have read in a long
time.
Jordon ends up
being all the things Brittan needs but hasn’t let her walls down to accept
until now. Reading about how these to come together was redemption for al the
tears I shed in the first half of the book. Brittan and Jordon are perfect for
each other, not only are they supportive of one another, they help each other
to heal. Not to mention together these two have some really smoking hot hot scenes!
Jordon will leave you panting and waiting for more! Again the writing is so
vivid that there were times when I felt like I was intruding!
I know I need to
wrap this up as its getting long, but again I need to say YOU NEED TO READ THIS
BOOK! This is once again one of the few
stories that I will giving a spot to in m book loving heart! I won’t soon
forget Brittan and Cane or Brittan and Jordon!
