My Review
Holy crap!! Hard as Stone is one hot read! This is one of
those books I went into expecting more suspense than romance but man was I
pleasantly surprised. Sarah O’Rourke has masterfully written a great thrill
ride with action, drama and really, really hot sex. I love the all the
characters in this book, the sister are priceless and lil miss.Heaven had me in
stiches. Let’s just say you will never hear “the farm and the del” again
without cracking up. This book will have you from the word go. Sarah was able
to give you every bit of information you could possibly want without making you
roll your eyes hoping that it would just be over with. The way she was able to
put every detail in without boring me to tears was amazing. This is defiantly
one of my top 10 favorite reads so far this year. So without further ado let me
introduce you to Jacob Stone and Harmony (along with her crazy ass sisters that
this story would not be the same without..lol)
Jacob Stone…my oh my he is my definition of an alpha male
that will have you drooling all over this book. He is ex-military and now an
undercover DEA agent. He pursued the DEA job to seek vengeance for the death of
his sister. The DEA world has nicknamed him the widow maker and he is known to
take a life without blinking an eye, when he gets a tip that the man he has
been looking for is planning on starting up a new drug base in the small town
of Paradise he goes there on “vacation” to do his own investigating. What he
doesn’t expect is that the family of women who he has been told has ties to one
of the key players in the drug ring will turn his life upside down in the best
possible way. He goes in expecting to use Harmony as a pawn in his game but once
he meets her and looks into her eyes he knows that this is the women that he
wants to lay down his life for. Only problem is he falls head over heels in
love with Harmony and her daughter Heaven but he still hasn’t told her what
actually brought him to Paradise in the first place. Now with time no longer on
his side he needs to find a way to protect everything that he has now found to
live for but the drug world has other ideas, along with Harmony’s ex-husband.
“Life is filled with shots, Zeke. Some I’ve missed. Some I’ve thrown
away. Some I’ve avoided. But Harmony McKinnon is my shot…my shot at good and
clean and pure…my shot in ways you can’t even understand. She’s my last shot at
happy. And believe me, I’m takin’ it.”
Harmony is an amazing character, I love the fact the can be
vulnerable and downright hard headed and stands up for her family. When she was
16 she fell in love with her husband and on the day of graduation she ran off
to marry him against the wishes of her family. When she returns her parents
tell her to choose him or her family, she chooses him and it a decision that will
haunt her for the rest of her life. When her husband fails to pick up Harmony’s
younger sister Honor one night it turns to tragedy. Honor was kidnapped and
raped, then left for dead. Thankfully she was found but in turn Harmony goes
after her husband to tell him it’s over, he could beat on her and treat her
like crap but she could never forgive him for putting her baby sister’s life in
danger. Unfortunately this leads to the worst beating of her life, in the
aftermath she finds out that she is pregnant but with the help of the local law
man Zeke(who by the way is one hot ass man too) and the local attorney
Able(another nice piece with a shall we sat decorated tree…lol) she gets a
divorce and all his rights to his daughter.
“I can’t promise clear skies, darlin’,” Jacob admitted quietly. “But I
can damn sure be there with the umbrella when that rain falls.”
For years Harmony shut down from men but when Jacob comes
into her world like a bull in a china shop she finds herself starting to feel
things she swears she never will again. But with this hat as hell alpha male
she has no choice but to fall in love and do it kicking and screaming. The chemistry
between Jacob and Harmony is off the freaking charts and I’m pretty sure that
like Harmony had with the new shower I may have had a mini orgasm over this
book.
So if I haven’t convinced you to read this book yet I have
some more to my arsenal in the way of Patience and Faith, Harmony’s other
sisters. Holy crap Patience will have you laughing till you cry. I don’t want
to give too much away but there is part where she is high on morphine that will
have you laughing till it hurts. And the best part hers and Able's story is
coming out nextJ
So really all I can say to you all is read this book, you won’t be
disappointed. Cheers to you Sarah on an amazing series and thank you for
brining Jacob Stone into my world!!

Harmony’s fingers curled around the corded tendons in his shoulders,
hanging on tightly as his fingertips trailed lower across her quivering abdomen
just above the elastic band of her panties.
“Jake, hurry” she begged when his fingers merely plucked at the elastic
at the waist of her underwear, popping it against her hot skin.
“I feel like I’m unwrapping a gift that I waited my entire life to
receive,” he whispered against her breast, nipping a turgid rosy nipple with
his teeth and pulling a low whine from his woman’s throat. “Did you really think I wasn’t gonna savor
every single minute of this, baby?
You’ve kept me hard as stone for weeks, dreaming of having you
underneath me in my bed. This isn’t
gonna be a hurried little encounter that I’ll let you sweep under the rug after
we’re done. Nah, I’m gonna take my sweet
time and make damn sure you remember every second in my arms. I’m gonna love you so well that you won’t be
able to think of anything but the next time you can crawl in my bed and feel my

Harmony panted against Jake’s neck as his dark words built a

his calloused fingertips sliding down the crease of her thigh, hooking in the

She audibly gasped when she heard the thin material rip and tear. “You tore my panties off,” she choked,
shocked by his ardor.

he returned, unworried by her stunned surprise at his action as he blew a
