Synopsis
Donnie Jennings has a lifestyle most men only dream of—a life full of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. In his eyes, there’s not much more he could ever want than banging drums and banging groupies. But what will happen when his bandmates find love and he’s left behind? What will happen when the tour ends and he’s left all alone?
He’ll hit rock bottom.
Nora Storm has a job that requires her to be tough. Day in and day out, she deals with heartache and pain, bringing home a measly paycheck for her efforts. When credit card debt consumes her, she picks up a second job—one that would make her momma blush if she were still alive, but at least she doesn’t have to run back to Daddy for help. She’s a grown woman and will own up to her responsibilities. But will being responsible take a toll on her wellbeing?
She’ll take control.
When a chance encounter brings Donnie and Nora together, they quickly realize that they know each other from their past, and a storm begins to brew. As loneliness and despair start to overwhelm The Aces’ bad-boy drummer, Nora steps in, hell-bent on saving him from himself. Her claws come out when she has to also protect him from everyone else. Paparazzi. Groupies. His father.
They’ll join forces.
Together, Donnie and Nora form a Bonnie and Clyde relationship of sorts and find themselves running desperately from a storm determined to destroy them.
Will these two find a way to be together forever?
Or will dark clouds engulf them and blow away their chance at a happy ending?
Oh Kristi Webster you are killing me!! But it’s the best
type of killing possible. I have loved the Vegas Aces series since my heart
broke with Bobby and June, my heart melted with Chaz and Ryan and now you have
my heart going into over drive with Donnie and Nora. I can’t say enough about
this series. I have been blessed to get to review every book so far and I’m so
happy I get to do this one too. Everyone could be read separate if you wanted
but I defiantly recommend reading every single book and in order because there
are some spoilers from previous books but really you will enjoy falling in love
each and every one of these boys and their partners in crime.
Donnie is the drummer for the aces and is in top of the
world, or so everyone thinks he is. When really Donnie is drowning, he is doing
drugs and drinking all the time, bed hoping with one random groupie after
another. He feels lost with his band mates all in different stages of their lives;
they have families of their own now and other obligations. Then you have Donnie’s
family, his dad has never understood Donnie and ridicules his life choices
daily and his mom is a step ford wife who he is pretty sure is Barbie reincarnated.
Then there is his sister, the only reason he even communicates with his family
is for her.
One night after the Aces preform at the police and firemen
ball, he meets a woman who he has an instant attraction to but doesn’t know
why. When she recognizes his voice it all comes together, it’s the 911 operator
that helped him deliver Bobby and Junes baby. Donnie turns on his charm with
her but he can’t even get her name from her.
Nora Storm is a force to be reckoned with just like her name
suggests. She is a 911 operator by day and a burlesque singer and dancer by
night. She in super attracted to Donnie but she is not a one night stand type
of girl so she writes him off as a good visual for more private times. The only
problem is that one night while she is out with a friend Donnie comes into the
same restaurant and she can see that he is drowning that something isn’t right. She takes a drugged and dunk Donnie home and
then finds herself not being able to leave without knowing he’s going to be ok.
The next morning though a confused Donnie can’t even remember
who brought him home and after a very embarrassing encounter Nora once again
leaves him with no name. Donnie then visits a club that his manager suggested
and was supposed to meet him there, imagine his surprise when the girl he has
only been calling Lady is the main act. In his not so lucid mind he goes all
alpha and pulls her off the stage, which leads to a night in jail and a media
storm that impacts him and Nora.
When he tries to see Nora again and things are going well
his insecurities of not being good enough and with his world falling apart
Donnie hits rock bottom. But once you hit the bottom there is only one way to
go but up. With the love of Nora, Donnie begins to heal and he wants to live
and be loved.
So really I have given you more than enough to wet you appetite.
The rest you all have to find out for yourself by reading the book. I got to
say though I was so sad that this was the last of all the Aces story and didn’t
want to finish it and say good bye….but Kristi had a surprise for me another
book is coming featuring Donnie’s sister and the aces band manager…insert girly
squeal here…..I can’t wait to learn more about these two and also catch up with
my favorite rockers because in all honesty I cannot pick my favorite out of the
group. Cheers Kristi and thank you for my Aces!!

About the Author
I’m a thirty-two-year-old self-proclaimed book nerd. Married for nearly eleven years, my husband and I enjoy spending time with our two lovely children. Writing is a newly acquired fun hobby for me. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the role as a reader. However, recently, I learned that I absolutely love taking on the creative role as the writer. Something about determining how the story will play out intrigues me to no end. My husband claims that it’s because I like to control things—in a way, he’s right!
By day, I run around from appointment to appointment, wearing many hats including, mom, wife, part-time graphic designer, blogger, networker, social media stalker, student, business owner, and book boyfriend hunter. (It’s actually a thing—complete with pink camo. I lurk around the internet, “researching” pictures of hot guys who fit the profile of whatever book boyfriend I’m reading or writing about)
I guess you can blame my obsession with books on my lovely grandmother, who is quite possibly my favorite person on the planet. At an early age, she took me to the half-priced bookstore each weekend and allowed me to choose a book. Every single time, she caved when I begged for two. Without her encouragement, I wouldn’t have been able to cope during some hard times without my beloved books.
Currently, I am finishing up my college degree that has taken me forever to complete. It’s just on the list of my many “bucket-list” goals that I subject myself to.
Most days, you can find me firmly planted in front of my computer. It’s my life. If the world ever loses power, I’d be one of the first to die—of boredom! But I guess as long as I have books and a light, I might just survive.
Looking forward, you can expect to see two more novels in the Breaking the Rules Series. I’m nearly finished with the third. Also, I have a standalone novel that will be released soon as well.
This writing experience has been a blast, and I’ve met some really fabulous people along the way. I hope my readers enjoy reading my stories as much as I do writing them. I look forward to connecting with you all!
