Synopsis
Sidney Halston returns to steamy Tarpon Springs, Florida, where a hell-raising bad boy prepares to get down and dirty for the woman he loves.
How could she have been so stupid? When Jessica Cross decides to give her violently jealous boyfriend—the otherwise influential and charming Dennis Stavros—a second chance, she very nearly becomes a statistic. After weeks of healing from a broken rib and collapsed lung, and with Dennis behind bars, Jessica finally feels ready to come out of hiding. But will she ever be able to take a chance on love again with someone new?
Mixed martial arts fighter Slade Martin knows he has a bad reputation. Hell, he's probably earned it. So it won’t be easy to convince beautiful, vulnerable Jessica that she can trust him—that from the moment she walked into his life, she’s been the only one he’s wanted. Powerful and confident, Slade knows he can honor his vow to protect Jessica body and soul. Winning her heart will be another matter . . . but a woman like Jessica is worth the fight.

My Review
Full Contact is the second book in the Worth The Fight series by Sidney Halston, and while it can be read as a standalone novel I do recommend reading the first book before starting this one. I did not get the opportunity to read book one and therefore I feel it has affected my enjoyment of Full Contact. Don't get me wrong, I did like this book, but certain elements of the story bothered me and the reasons for those were due to not being privy to dealings in book one.
So this is Jessica and Slade's story and everything happened very quickly, at first this confused me and bothered me somewhat, after reading further I realised these two had met in the first book and the connection between them started back then. This made it difficult to find the connection between Slade and Jessica believable, while they had some chemistry and the sexual tension was pretty thick, without getting their story from the very beginning I found that this made it hard for me to get full immersed in the book. For me, I need to see where that spark between them ignited, I need to read about those feelings and emotions as the characters feel them.
One part of this story I really found very entertaining and enjoyable was the funny comments and witty banter that was thrown back and forth between the main and secondary characters. There were quite a few moments I found myself having a chuckle at their antics!
Overall, Full Contact was written quite well with a great amount of humour, love, lust and friendship. While I did enjoy reading this book I couldn't bring myself to really love it, which is a shame because it really was a a decent story, it just needed that extra something. I will definitely read from this author again in the future. If you enjoy a light, sweet romance with a somewhat predictable story line then you will most probably enjoy this series.
