Synopsis

The final instalment of Zeth & Sloane's story is here!

With Lacey missing and everything falling apart, Sloane and Zeth will do everything they can to get her back. If that includes facing off against Charlie Holsan, the DEA, and anyone else who gets in their way, then so be it.

Faced with heartbreak, danger, and the increasing need to protect the ones he loves, Zeth Mayfair is finally realizing what it means to have a family. With her fears coming full circle, Sloane must learn that forgiveness is the only way to move forward

My Review

Getting a copy of Collateral was a bit bittersweet for me. As excited as I was to read it, I was also sad that this amazing series was coming to an end. However, Collateral was beyond my expectations. The raw emotion and the incredible bond I felt towards the characters made me want to hold on, go slow, and savor every moment of this final chapter of Zeth and Sloane’s story.

So much happened in this book- not only storyline wise- but with the growth of the characters. I have always loved Sloane. I have always found her to be an incredibly strong character but halfway through this book I found myself in awe of her. Her strength and her passion and her commitment is beyond any other female role I have read- at least in a very long time.

Seeing Zeth transform over the course of these six books was remarkable. In some ways he is the same Zeth we have grown to love and in a lot of ways he is completely different. His POV was amazing. My heart shattered for him at times, but then at times I had so much admiration for the way he handled certain things. Watching him being torn between who is was-who he has always been- and who he wants to be was a beautiful struggle to witness. My heart soared at his love and commitment to Sloane. Their love for each other is the definition of two souls meant to be one.

We will get a conclusion to Lacey’s story and to the devil himself- Charlie Holsan. We will see a different side of Michael and I couldn’t help but wish I could get more of him after reading Collateral. There was a depth to him brought out that we have yet to see. His friendship and commitment to Zeth (and now Sloane) and his bond with Lacey was wonderful.

Sloane gets the closure she deserves where her sister is concerned. I am hoping for more of Sophie’s story in Rebel when it comes out. Things were a bit rushed where that was concerned but I’m sure that had to do with not revealing to much as hopefully it will be told in Rebels book.

This final installment will bring many tears, a few laughs, and lots of love. The ending was remarkable. It was a perfect ending for them and their story.

Again, with many of Callie’s books I would say you need to experience this for yourself. Every twist and emotion will pull at your whole being and not want to let you go. Its been a while since I was left with a true book hangover but this surely has done that for me. Zeth and Sloane are a permanent duo on my all-time favorite couples list.

Congrats Callie on this final installment. I cannot wait to read what else you have in store for us. In this one series- you have become a must read author for me and made me a forever fan of yours.

P.S. I have to mention this cover! I am a bit of a cover-whore and I have to say I LOVE it.. Did you notice they are kissing on it? *sigh* Awe I just love it. Its absolutely perfect.
