Note to Readers:

My sincere apologies to readers who have been waiting for this for a while...sadly I lost more than 75% of the manuscript earlier this year due to a computer crash and its been emotionally taxing to rewrite the book - but it is under way - I promise. I don't want to release the book until I'm absolutely happy with it. I'm hoping the wait will be worth it. Thank you for understanding and for your patience.

My Review

I absolutely fell in love with book one in the Firebird Trilogy Lost In France, and have been waiting forever for book 2, so needless to say I am soooooooo FRIGGIN' excited that it's finally here!

Thank god book 2 picks right up where we left off. With Rebecca having fled to Munich Germany not only for her job, but to escape the heartbreak caused by Alain… now known to me as the Asshole! Never have I so quickly turned my back on a character as I have him. Douchebag!

I loved the book opening with her at the bar trying to drown her sorrows and lucky for her she meets a lovable new bestie named Kurt, who I just adore all though the book.
I really hope he and Lily get their own book too!

So after nursing her broken heart and bonding with Kurt, the sexy bartender/med student, it seems Rebecca has finally made peace with life sans Alain and is ready to move on...Thank God!!!!

And with whom you ask?

Dun, dun, dun....

Well none other than Mr. Sex himself, Maxwell Grant! Yay!!!!!

It's official! I'm sooooo gaga over Mr. Maxwell Grant! From early on in book 1, there was just something so charismatic and charming in an alpha domineering way, which just drew me to his character.

Then in No Regrets his POV is sexy as hell and I could not wait to see where things were going to go between him and Rebecca. I loved that he was willing to lay all his cards out in order to win her over. Its so beyond abundantly clear that these two NEED to be together.

“Rebecca, you were made for me.” -Maxwell

The sexual tension and their chemistry is just so palpable that it made for one addicting read! I couldn't stop reading, I just needed to see where this attraction would go, especially now that's he's made a wee little confession that can change everything!! EVERYTHING!!! Eeeepppp!!
I'm soooo fucking excited at his revelation! Put the running shoes away Becca!

God Max is just such a... a...tummy flutter inducing smooth as chocolate pudding talking alpha hunk of a man who had me hook line and sinker when he utters the words "Until you."
I tell you SWING! As soon as those 2 words drip from his sexy assed mouth all I wanted was for Jani to give us some hot dirty sex Maxwell style!

But then ghaahhhh! Rebecca has to go and ruin a perfect moment! I. Am. Dying.

Talk about blue balls Jani Kay you're killing me! I sooo was ready for Max and Rebecca to finally give in to their passion and attraction. But no, Ms. Kay would rather tease us a bit longer and leave us longing for some deliciously hot sex, that we know is bound to be explosive between these two.
But don’t worry there are plenty of in betweens to get you psyched for the big moment.
THANK GOD!

As the book moves on Rebecca faces some family issues that leave me on pins and needles waiting to see how things will play out for her and her poor sister Lily. I really didn’t see this twist coming and I feel the book takes on a spin that I really wasn’t expecting at all.

But with a family tragedy comes a ray of hope in the form of Maxwell Grant. I just loved how Max dropped everything to go show Rebecca that she had him to lean on during this tough time.
Big time brownie points for my boy!

Hot damn is their reunion hotter than hades! I'm talking one hell of a sexy visual created by Ms. Kay as Max and Rebecca FINALLY get it on! Like fan yourself HOT! SO worth the wait.
But still the anticipation was killing me!!!

I love Max he's just the perfect balance of sweet, sexy and best of all alpha. He's a no bullshit all honesty kind of guy and I'm soooooo the president of team Maxwell.
I loved reading the scenes between him and Rebecca.

Then of course, just as everything is the way it should be, Alain, the asshole has to come back trying to win back Rebecca.
SERIOUSLY...I like really have a hate on for this guy and want to punch him in the throat!

But at least his time, thank god there might be a silver lining in the form of Rebecca's sister Chloe,
to distract Alain from his plan. Wow! Do sparks fly between these two.
And boy oh boy did his POV piss me off while claiming to be wanting to win over Rebecca all the while hearing his thoughts about her sister!
See I was right…Arse!

But thank goodness Rebecca's feelings run too deep for Maxwell to even entertain Alain.
See ya later, you blew it buddy!

Not that I didn’t love him in book 1, but my heart just completely broke over his decision in Lost In France that I just cant get over it. And I do need to add that I did feel sorry for him in book 2 but not enough to cheer for him to win Rebecca back.

I tell you this book was one hell of a ride, with a ton of angles, twists and turns. With the introductions of some new characters I found my self completely wrapped up in each story wanting more of the secondary characters too. So many questions about these characters, I hope they all get their own book. That being said I do feel that there were times where the main story of Rebecca and Max was overshadowed making it a bit frustrating, because of how much I wanted to read about just them. Ya, I'm selfish like that!

As the book nears it’s end we are witness to a pretty big bomb being dropped on our fav couple and thank god, Rebecca’s chooses to fight with her man. Despite it not being as huge cliffy we are definitely left with many questions and a HUGE need for book 3 NOW!

About the Author

Jani is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar on a book - always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape her world for a while and see through someone else's eyes.

Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.

Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).
