Synopsis
Good girls stay away from Ryder Briggs . . . or, at least, they tryto. In Renita Pizzitola’s emotional novel of heartache and seduction, one college freshman just can’t get enough.
Brinley Dawson doesn’t drink, she studies—and despite the accusations of her alcoholic mother, she’s still a virgin. But if Brinley’s life is so put together, why is she freaking out to be going to college with the gorgeous, green-eyed jerk she kissed on a stupid dare in high school? Ryder Briggs can have any girl he wants . . . and the rumors say that he does. So why, after publicly embarrassing Brinley four years ago, is he suddenly acting like he’s interested?
Ryder never forgot Brinley. In fact, those perfect seven minutes permanently raised the bar for what a kiss could be. The truth is, Ryder doesn’t dare get too close to anyone. He knows how that worked out for his parents. But when his roommate takes a shot at Brinley, Ryder can’t contain his jealousy. Now he must do the hardest thing he’s ever done: forget about sex and convince Brinley his feelings are real.
Brinley isn’t sure whether she believes Ryder, but for the first time, her body isn’t playing by the rules. Then she discovers that she’s an unwilling part of a cruel game, humiliating her all over again—and Ryder might be to blame. Has Brinley’s little crush turned into a huge mistake . . . or has she found the one guy worth trusting with her heart?

My Review
I really enjoyed this fun and witty college romance with realistic characters
and real life problems.
Brinley is your typical naive virgin college girl who of course
catches the eye of the campus bad boy. The same boy who happens to have a
pretty shall we say “slutty” reputation on campus. He also happens to be the popular guy from
back in high school to whom she gave her first kiss, while playing a game of
spin the bottle.
A kiss that she swore meant something to both of them…that is until
he completely embarrasses her, pretty much breaking her innocent and fragile
heart in the process.
Meet Ryder Briggs. Ryder is all kinds of hot and sexy!!! Like
sex on a 10-foot pole!! We are talking your typical brooding, bad boy hottie
who is essentially every girl on campus’ wet dream.
Now four years later we learn that Ryder just might have always
had a sweet spot for Brinley and seeing her at a frat party years later only spark
these feelings into the forefront.
With some determination, a bit of reluctance due to a feeling of
unworthiness we begin to witness Ryder work is charm in order to disarm the
skittish Brinley.
What follows is an exciting up and down read of Ryder and
Brinley trying in vain to avoid the sparks and feelings they so obviously have
for one another. I really liked Ryder ‘s character and how he tried soooo damn
hard to stay away from Brinley, but with such a strong connection it was
inevitable and I LOVED watching him tear down his walls and allow himself to
fully pursue her. And pursue her is does, god, does he have no problems making
his intentions known. Ryder proves that he can have one dirty little mouth.
“When your cheeks get red like that, I start
thinking about other ways I could make them flush. Then I start thinking about
keeping you up at night, which leads to thoughts about the way you kissed me.
If that was fifteen, I can only imagine what a little time and experience can
do. But then I see the way you get when you’re around me and it makes me wonder
how much experience you’ve had since then.”
But with Brinley being so innocent and having huge trust issues
with him he takes the friend route and I have to say these friends to lover
stories are always my favs because they seem so much more believable. I really
enjoyed the chase and how cute Brinley was going thought the motions and
feelings she was experiencing where Ryder was concerned.
After trying to be friends and realizing its essentially no use
we are treated to soooo many sweet moments between Ryder and Brinley that I
found myself impatiently waiting for her to cash in her
V-card to the panty melting man that is Ryder, because I know that when these two finally get it on, it going to be HOT as hell!

Of course not everything can just be matter of the heart
problems, no instead we have trust issues, outside characters messing things up
and of course a crazy secret that almost ruins it all of Ryder and Brinley. But
thank the book gods, for letting them work it all out, because I just LOVED
these two and needed them to get the ending they deserved.
