You think you know me?

Think again.

*Raced is not a complete re-write of the Driven Trilogy. This companion explores pivotal scenes as well as some new ones written in Colton Donavan’s point of view that were not previously published in Driven, Fueled, and Crashed. Hear his thoughts, experience his inner-turmoil, and laugh with him on his journey as he overcomes his demons and accepts what it means to love. This novella is for the devoted readers of the Driven series. It is recommended that this companion be read after Driven, Fueled, and Crashed.

My Review

AWWW… Colton Donavan!

Excuse me. Let's try that again!

COLTON 'FREAKING' DONAVAN!

Getting inside this man's head was just...beyond Amazing!  I mean, watching is struggle from his first meeting with Riley, all the way to him opening his heat during the "I Do's".  Every thought, every emotion, every freaking word grabbed a hold of me and never let go!

This is an amazing and unique POV book of some of the most monumental moments for Colton. Kristy did a fabulous job of in choosing which ones to include. I loved every single one of them. However, if I could have chosen to have all three books rewritten in Colton’s POV I would have chosen that. Hahahaha, hmmm...think Kristy would ever go for that? ;)

Being inside Colton’s head is addicting. I felt every word Kristy wrote write down to the bone. I felt the torment Colton went through in battling his feelings for Rylie. I felt the passion and love he eventually realized he had for this woman.

There are a three or four scenes that stick out for me. One being, their first meeting!  Arrogant, Cocky, Egotistical maniac is right! Man that was fun to read! I had a smile plastered on my face and just shook my head at how irresistible he found himself. It was amazing! But, I have to say my two favorites are in the Crashed portion of this book. The scene when he first gets back on the track after his accident- I cried like a baby! It was so emotional to hear his POV- especially the part when he speaks to Rylie over the radio.

My other favorite part is a new scene. It is with Colton and his dad- it is a scene that, I guess you could say, woke Colton up and made him see exactly what he had. I was a beautiful moment between Father and Son. That one scene is a life changing scene for the both of them. It was beautiful and emotional and real.

I am not a huge fan of alternate POV books. I have read maybe ten or so and out of those ten I am a fan of maybe two- well now three. This was unlike any other one I have read. I’m not sure if there are others out there like this or not. You most definitely have to read all three books in the Driven Series before you read this one. Raced is a grouping of random scenes. It will not make sense storyline wise just to read it.

I absolutely loved how before each chapter, Kristy gave her thoughts on why she chose to write the scene in Colton’s POV and emotionally why she thought it was important for this alternate view to be heard.

I give this book beyond five stars. If you have read the Driven Series then you will, without a doubt, want to read this. I would love to find the time to reread this book along with the Driven Series. It would be interesting to read Riley’s POV right along with Colton’s in some of these scenes.

Amazing job, Kirsty! Thank you so much for giving all of us a little more Colton Donavan!

Excerpt

It’s more than obvious that we need to say our parting words and have a moment of silence for your dearly departed dick.”

“Becks—”

“Shh!” he responds, trying to hold his pointer finger to his lips but his depth perception is so off I laugh when he tries several times to get it there despite his dead serious face. “A moment of silence is needed to kiss your unvoodooed ass goodbye.”

“You’re such an asshole,” I tell him but know I’m lucky to have him as my partner in crime.

“Shh!” he says again, and I give up. I take a deep breath and roll my eyes but humor him and remain silent. I swear he’s passed out but he’s still sitting at the edge of the chair and hasn’t fallen over.

Yet.

But his eyes are still closed when a huge-ass grin turns his mouth up and he claps his hands together and rubs them. “Shit, that was easier than I thought.”

“What was?” My buzz is humming now and I’m finally relaxed after a fuck-all day with the Firestone guys and negotiations over shit they’re going to cave on in the end anyway.

“Getting you to admit you’re a kept man now.”
