Only fools fall in love…
After her senior year of high school leaves behind nothing but heartache, Olivia Beaumont is sure of this: She’s no stupid girl. She sets out for Winston College, promising herself that she will remain focused on her first and only love – astronomy. But all it takes is cocky sophomore Brax Jenkins and an accidental collision with a football, to throw her entire year off course.
A quick-tempered Southie who escaped the inner city streets of Boston to pitch for Winston, Brax is known to play way more fields than just the baseball diamond. So, when his name is drawn to take part in his fraternity’s hazing dare, Brax eagerly accepts the mission to take Olivia’s virginity. But he doesn’t plan on falling hard for the sweet and sassy Texas girl who sees right through his bad-boy persona.
As Olivia and Brax battle their feelings for each other, echoes of the past year begin to surface. A boy who once turned Olivia’s whole world upside down reappears, and “harmless” pranks wreak havoc. Pretty soon the aspiring astronomer is on the verge of revealing her most difficult, heartbreaking secret. All the while, Brax must wrestle with the irrevocable dare, and Olivia struggles against all logic as she does the one thing only a stupid girl would do: fall in love.

My Review
Wow…Stupid Girl is an amazing book. This book touched me in
so many ways, it had me laughing and crying all in a single chapter. The
characters in this book are so well developed that you will feel like they are
your own group of friends and all you want to do is hold them and tell them
everything will be all right. Cindy Miles has crafted a beautiful story, with
believable character development and true honest to go emotions.
The first character we meet is Olivia, she is in her own
worst nightmare but can’t quite remember what happened. But her body is aching
and she can hear her brothers screaming at her boyfriend, only to find out her boyfriend
Kelsey has drugged and raped her. We then fat forward to a new jaded and guarded
Olivia who is starting her first year at college, but on her way to her dorm
she is bulldozed by non-other than Brax.
Brax is a hot as hell, tattooed up, baseball
player bad boy, with a sweet Boston accent. His meeting with Olivia was no
accident but a bet that he will come to regret ever making or taking. When he
meets Olivia and sees her down to earth country heart and looks he is taken by
her right away. Unfortunately for him he also becomes acquainted with her knee
to the family jewels.
But Brax being Brax he doesn’t let up and soon worms his way
into Olivia’s life and heart. But Brax himself is much more than meets the eye.
He soon opens up to Olivia about his life of hardships and abandonment. His
story gutted me as a mother and as a team Brax fan. I love the way Brax would lay his life and also his future down for Olivia. He evn takes some great advice for her Grampa Jilly.(By the way Grampa Jilly is like one of my all time favorite characters ever.)
Just when things are going good though Kelsey shows up at
the school and starts to make Olivia’s life hell. Brax is her hero and they love
each other so much, yet never say it. Kelsey continues his ways with Olivia and
soon brings his well to do father in on it.
I know this review sounds so vague but this story was so
well written that I’m scared to say too much and spoil it for you all. So I’m
going to say this, this is one of those reads that will have you staying up way
past your bedtime and begging for more. I’m so happy to have had this chance at
reading this book and I hope you all will do the same because I promise it won’t
disappoint.
