After months of caring
for her terminally ill mother, Rebecca Rivera is left all alone in a world she
doesn’t trust—but she’s determined not to let her mother’s death define her.
Losing her job, having to pummel some jerk for being too handsy, and living in
her car are just temporary setbacks to an otherwise solid plan in finding her
footing. Full of pride and used to being in control of her life, she’s certain
she can make it on her own. The last thing Rebecca needs is a man to fix her
troubles—even if that man is strikingly handsome, wealthy, and charismatic
Pierce Braden.
Pierce is a powerful real estate investor on the verge of a major acquisition.
As the eldest of six siblings raised by a single mother, he’s spent his life
protecting those he loves. He’s used to being in charge and making things
right, and although he’d give his life for his family, he treats the women he
dates as expendable—until he meets sexy and stubborn Rebecca Rivera, a woman
who is as strong as she is vulnerable.
Passion ignites between them, and the two share their most intimate thoughts
and desires. It doesn’t take long for Pierce to realize that Rebecca is as
determined not to be saved as he is to find a way into her heart. As their love
grows, Rebecca must face fears she didn’t even realize she had—and Pierce must
learn the hard truth that sometimes less really is more. Is the power of true
love enough for Rebecca and Pierce to learn to give up control and allow their
hearts to take over?
My Review
Oh Miss.Foster, you and your Braden boys may just be the
death of me in the very best way possible. Just when I think I have my favorite
picked you introduce me to another one. Holy smokes I love Pierce!! He is one
hot customer and does he ever know how to make a lady swoon. I love how even
though each Bradan boy is a gentleman and knows his manners but yet each has
their own special quality. This is a beautiful addition to the series and makes
me count down the days till the next Bradan graces my kindle and I get to fall
in love all over again.
“Sweet Jesus, Bec. You’re too magnificent for words. Beautiful is too
small a word; lovely is too soft. You’re…” He raked his tongue over her nipple,
feeling her body shudder beneath him.” Sinfully exquisite.”
Not only are the Bradan boys amazing but the women that come
into their lives are just as amazing and unique. Here we meet Rebecca or “Bec”
as Pierce calls her. The first time Pierce spots her she is introducing her
fist and knee to a guy’s face in the bar. And well that was just something that
intrigued the shit out of him. Bec is struggling though; she just recently lost
her mother and even more recently her home. She doesn’t want to open herself up
and turns Pierce down the first time they meet. But she soon finds out that
opening herself up to love is not the worst thing. Bec is beautiful character
who my heart ached for. Even though she has spent the last 3 years taking care
of her mom and then losing her to cancer, she refuses to wallow in self-pity.
She just picks herself up and hopes that tomorrow will be better. Her
perseverance is something to be in awe of, even though her stubbornness and
unwillingness to accept help gets in the way it was inspiring to watch someone
who could have easily lay down and cried and felt sorry for she come back to
life. I loved her undying love and devotion to her mother, and the fact she
kept trying to so the things that would make her life better.
“I don’t want to save you, Rebecca. But I get the feeling that we were
supposed to come together, and I think you were supposed to save me.”
Then Pierce came in to her life and we get to watch her
blossom into a softer woman. She may fight Pierce tooth and nail on needing her
independence but when they come together it is hot as all hell. The two of them
together will have you fanning yourself and begging for more all at the same
time. But it’s the acceptance of who she is that will have you loving her…..and
well then There is Pierce.
“Don’t move,” she whispered. “Am I hurting you?” Her lips curved up.
“No, Pierce. You’re completing me.”
Pierce is a business man that knows what he wants and how to
get it. He has lived the life of a playboy but once he meets Bec he knows that
something has been missing in his life. The only problem is that he doesn’t
know how to get her. He is used to women wanting him for his money and the notoriety
of being on his arm in public. His view of the world and what love is is
completely turned upside down by Bec and it’s the best view change he could ever
imagine. Pierce is one hot ass man and he will not disappoint. He knows how to
be the right kind of dominant, yet be willing to give a little bit of it up.
Just like the other Bradan’s he is all man and knows how to treat a lady and
make her legs turn to Jell-O in the best possible way. Opening doors,
whispering sweet things and just being sexy as sin.
These two characters have defiantly won a piece of my heart
and I hope to catch up with them in the near future. I love how we always get a
little glimpse into the lives of all the characters we have met throughout this
series and I will be so sad when it comes to an end. My one ray of sunshine is
that I know there are still a few more that need their happily ever aftersJ
If you haven’t read this series I implore…no better yet beg
you to pick them up because if you need some smoking hot men with southern
charm in your life, these are you are your men!
