Synopsis

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words. It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job. But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell? Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen. But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles. But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life. And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?

Review

Last of the Malone brothers!! Gutted!! i'm sure they have another brother somewhere!!  Although we are gonna get a little sneek at Desi in November!!

Grayson Malone is the sensible one of his brothers.  Always the peace keeper in family squabbles and always the one to sort stuff out.  He has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders being a single dad and he takes it very seriously.  He loves three things in his life his son, his family and his job.  He has no time or inclination to add anything else to that.  He took a risk once on a woman and it didn't turn out well.  He refuses to put himself and his son through that again.  He's pretty much closed himself off and he's happy to keep it that way.

Sidney has always dreamed of being an editor in chief of a fashion magazine.  She's trying to work her way up her fathers publishing house but a friend needed her help and she missed a big interview that would have helped propel her to the top.  Her very strict father thinks she needs to learn a lesson so he assigns her to a family based magazine located in her old home town with the task of saving it.

Begrudgingly she goes back to a place she was desperate to leave.  She comes face to face with a blast from the past.  Grayson.  They were never really friendly, she was a rich girl and Grayson was from a blue collar family who only served her and her friends in his after school job.  She never had time for Grayson and he never had time for her.  Now she's forced to ask him a favor.  One he doesn't want to do.  With the help of her new boss she sets out to make Grayson the face of the magazine in hopes she can save it.

Can they put aside their background and work together?

I'll start by saying i have thoroughly enjoyed this series.  Each one has been different and entertaining.  There has been something in all of them that i have loved.

This unfortunately is my least favorite and that really surprised me.  I thought Grayson would be my number one.  My peeve is that i got sick of him putting Sid down and blaming her pretty much for everything bad in the world because she had money.  I totally get why he did.  He was burned and badly by his ex.  I get that i do.  It just got tiresome for me, it wasn't enough of an excuse after a while.  In fact i felt myself getting angry on Sid's behalf.  And it wasn't just him that gave her constant digs but her father too.  I felt myself saying "give the girl a break!"   I liked him sometimes but when he was being immature it really really made me angry.  Of course he comes good in the end but by then i was a little too annoyed with him to properly enjoy it.

Sidney is the highlight of this book for me i loved her.  I can say she was far more mature than me when dealing with Grayson.  I would have stomped off like a 4 year old and never gone back no matter how good looking he was!!  She was strong and brave and loyal and mature and just a really sweet lovely girl.  Grayson was a lucky man she was so forgiving!!

I loved little Luke.  He was another highlight.  And of course all the Malone family.  The addition of Rissa was a blessing for Sidney.  I loved her character and i hope at some point she might get a story.

I did love the storyline i got really invested in the story.  The writing as usual from K Bromberg was impeccable.  It's just the aggravation i felt at Grayson that's made me drop a star.

Definately recommend along with Cuffed and Combust.

A mom of three, she plots her novels in between school runs and soccer practices, more often than not with her laptop in tow.

Since publishing her first book in 2013, Kristy has sold over one million copies of her books across sixteen different countries and has landed on the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists over twenty- five times. Her Driven trilogy (Driven, Fueled, and Crashed) is currently being adapted for film by Passionflix with the first movie slated to release in the summer of 2018.

She is currently working on her Everyday Heroes trilogy. This series consists of three complete standalone novels—Cuffed, Combust, and Cockpit (late spring 2018)—and is about three brothers who are emergency responders, the jobs that call to them, and the women who challenge them.
