Jax has had a lot to deal with over the years. His addict mom who checked out the day his dad left is a drain on him but he refuses to give up on her. It's not in his nature. The only thing good in his life are his chosen family, Royal and now his girl Ava and their daughter Kylie, Blaine and Mark. But there's always one thing missing. The girl he protected all those years ago, Lex. He knew from the first day he met her at 9 years old she was special. She trusted him and it meant a lot to him. Over the years he did everything he could to protect her but he was still just a kid and one night everything changed and she was taken away from him. He's never forgotten her and any girl since has meant nothing to him. Lex is the only girl he's ever loved but he has no idea where she ended up.
Lex grew up with nothing but pain from the moment her mom left her with her father. He mentally and physically abused her for years and things only got worse the night he took her away from Jax. She managed to get away from him but the pain left behind is unbearable. She uses pills to numb the pain she knows will break her. She ends up back in her old home town. This brings back a load of memories of the only person who ever cared if she lived or died, Jax. She would love to find him but she knows shes broken and wouldn't do anything to hurt him and she knows the way she is now that she would do just that.
By pure chance they encounter each other again. Her instinct is to run from him, frightened her darkness will taint him. His instinct is to grab onto her and never let her go. Jax is determined to keep her. He spent 13 years away from her and there is no way he will now let her out of his sight. Just like with his mom he refuses to give up.
Lex has no chance against this Beautiful Savage.
Farrrkkkk me!! Seriously it always astounds me how this author makes me fall for her characters every damn time!! The boys, the girls, it doesn't matter i fall for them.
I thought Royal was gonna be hard to top but in swoops Jax and swipes me away from him. I thought my book bestie was Ava and then in comes Lex! Sassy and strong even though she doesn't think so. Although i have to admit i think this situation will change again with the next book. I'm so fickle!! lol
I'll take Jax any day of the week. Seriously. He heats me up like no other! He just about melts my damn heart!! They way even though his mom is a lost cause he never gives up on her just had me swooning all over the place!! His feelings for Lex even though he hadn't seen her for 13 years cracked me wide open!! Then add to all those hearty feels the off the Richter scale quakes this man can give you with one lip nip and i was a goner!!! This guy is the whole package!!
Lex although initial thoughts have you thinking she's broken beyond repair shows you the strength she has. All she needed was the support of her soul mate. The one person she knows she can trust. The one person she knows will complete her if she can just fight! The things she goes through will break your heart and make you even more thankful for Jax. He's the only light in her life and i love that!!
Their relationship is pretty intense. They're like a drug to each other and can't get enough and i felt myself feeling the same way about them. I picked up the book and refused to put it down even when my kids were moaning for food! Meh they survived so all is good lol
The storyline in parts is hard to read. Its no holds barred and the brutality that Lex had to go through will have your chest tight and your heart broken. It gets pretty dark at some points but know that the end is definitely worth the pain.
Its great to see Royal, Ava and Kylie still having the life they deserved. Blaine is breaking my goddamn heart already and i'm dying for his story. Madison is going in a direction i didn't think she would and Uncle Mark is getting more Savage by the chapter! Hot Cop alert!!
I'll finish by saying buy the damn book!! Join the world of Savage & Ink you won't regret it!! I guarantee wet undies, broken hearts, swoons, mended hearts, lovey feels and finally a great big smile to end the read.
