My Review

Super sexy and very steamy! If your looking for a fast read with smokin’ hot love scenes this is the book for you.

Melissa was trying to escape the sadness and betrayal she has been living with so her and her best friend take off to a spa resort for a week filled with pampering and relaxation. What she didn't expect to find was the super tall and sexy Derek that would forever change her life.

I admired Melissa for being strong and sticking up for herself and following through with her plan to regain control of her own life...on her own terms. What she thought of at first as a happily ever after turns out to be a sickening nightmare. Betrayed and abused by the one person she expected to be there for her always has Melissa recoiling from everything she has worked hard for.

Derek is super sexy and a protector. He is ex-military and now devotes his life to protecting others. He and a friend/business associate are attending a conference at a resort and he finds himself drawn to a very beautiful Melissa. Everything in him is telling him to keep his distance from her. It’s not the right place or time for him to get involved with anyone…especially the vulnerable Melissa. However, seeing her from across the bar looking so sad has him putting one foot in front of the other and before too long their "one week stand" is underway.

I would have liked to see this book be a little longer. I think it would have allowed for the chance to be able to get more emotionally involved with the characters. This is more of an insta-Love book but it is a sweet short read worth your time.

The companion novel One to Keep will be out in January 2014. I am looking forward to this. It will follow Melissa's best friend Elaine and Partrick, who also happens to be Derek's good friend. Lets hope we get to see a little more Melissa and Derek in there as well.
