Fresh off a divorce from a Hollywood hotshot, Madison Atwood needs an escape. With the paparazzi fresh on her heels and her love life splashed on every tabloid, she runs away to a swanky retreat in Northern California. Avalon Springs is the mountainside haven she needs to find herself again.
Luke Dawson lives off the grid, preferring solitude to society. When he finds a beautiful woman soaking in the hot springs on his property, he can’t stop himself from watching her. She captures his attention, but she’s just a city girl—a beautiful distraction disturbing the peace he’s settled here to find.
When Madison discovers Luke’s secluded cabin, he can’t turn her away again. They make no promises. Madison needs to feel wanted again, and Luke misses the touch of a woman. But when mother nature has other plans, they’re forced to spend more than a night of passion together. Can Luke say goodbye to the only woman who’s made him feel anything in years, and can Madison leave behind the man who brought her back to life?

Review
This is my first venture into this misadventures series and Chelle is one of my faves so i had high hopes for a great story.
Madison fresh out of a public divorce decides she needs to get away from the pap's and anyone that knows her or her ex. She takes herself off on a four week retreat in the mountains. Arriving there she instantly feels like it was a mistake. There were more people there than she would have liked so she goes on a trek up the mountain on her own to try and clear her mind. There she encounters a beast of the man by the name of Luke.
Luke's self imposed exile is shattered when Madison bursts into his house and life. He knows he can't live around large groups of people. His refuge is his mountain home. No electricity, no internet, no people. He's happy on his own the silence is his only company, until her.
How will a city girl and a mountain man ever find common ground?
I'm torn on this review because on one hand i really enjoyed it. I loved both characters and their back stories. I really felt for both of them in different ways. Madison for her heartbreak over her ex and Luke for all he survived he then ended up alone. The connection between them was electric and extremely heated.
I liked the general plot. The finding middle ground between two very different people and the start of healing for both of them.
The things i found hard to push past was firstly the sex... yes it was hot, a lot of the scenes had me squirming but... there was far too much of it. I'm guessing this is a personal preference but i wanted something more than lots and lots of that. I missed Chelle Bliss's talent of spinning a great tale it felt like the point was missed by the overuse of sex.
Secondly and maybe an add on from the first was the lack of follow up. The things with Madison's ex-husbands mom, i felt more could have been elaborated on and without a spoiler the after part. Also Luke's past. His parents, siblings, ex... i feel more should have been said here too. It was for me personally too much on the erotic side. I love a good sex scene but not constant sex scenes. It felt a bit like that's all they were but i know it wasn't that just from the hints along the way. For me it never really got there.
Overall it was an enjoyable read and if you like erotica it will be right up your street. But for me personally i wanted a bit more on the storyline and less sex.
