Whoop Whoop something original and different! Darkly amazing!
Niko has dedicated his life to one cause. Finding the only girl who has ever meant anything to him. He failed her. His best friend, his neighbour, his girl. He'll never give up.
Niko is still searching for Aislin 15 years after her disappearance. When a case similar to Aislin's falls into his lap he's going to do everything he can to solve the case. He has a feeling he has to do this like an invisible pull and hopes that maybe he can solve the mystery of Aislin along the way.
Ok i'm going to have to be very vague with this review for fear of giving anything away.
I was honestly captivated from start to finish. Often difficult to read the story does exactly as it says on the cover and goes pretty dark. The story is mostly of Niko's search for Aislin and bringing whoever took her to justice. As soon as she went missing he knew she had been taken and not run away. It broke my heart to think that he's spent 15 years searching for her. It's truly a love story from a young boy to a man. Even though he wasn't with her his love grew for her over time. His life stopped when she went missing his love for her so strong. Of course being young there was nothing sexual about his love and that made Niko even sweeter and more swoonsome in my book!! I loved his passion and determination and although grumpy and temperamental at times he wasn't any less of an amazing book boyfriend.
The writing and plot were amazing. Original and page turning i had no idea where it was going to go. I really enjoyed how it would go several chapters with Niko and then switch to the ones inbetween. The inbetween ones were some of the hardest scenes to read. Real stomach turners i often literally felt my heart beating out of my chest with anxiousness and a sick feeling in my gut. Truly horrifying.
I have to say this is one of my favorite reads this year. I love an original story that completely steps out of the box, well it kinda leapt head first out of it. Amazing main characters and a fabulous support cast that just enriched the storyline further.
Highly recommend but please be aware some of the scenes are very uncomfortable and horrifying to read so please beware.
