The King is a spin off of the original Endgame series. If you've not read the series, you can start here and catch up with the other afterwards. And if you feel in love with The Pawn, then you'll be happy to see all your favorite characters back again. 

The King picks up before The Pawn and shows the relationship develope between Penny and Damon. They have more history that I could have guessed and their story is years in the making. Johnathan Scott is back and just as evil and Damon, in his mysterious way is trying to protect Penny. As the story unfolds, you'll see just how devasted Penny really was and you'll find yourself holding your breath for what's to come. 

I have to admit that I was surprised at how young Penny was. And the steam is very low. I'm interested to see where book 2 plays out and can't wait to watch a Penny and Damon's relationship build.
