SYNOPSIS:
Hair black as a raven’s coat, skin as white as snow, lips as read as, blabitty-blah, blah, blah. If one more person calls me sweet and innocent, I’m losing my head.
I’ve got more pressing matters to think about. Like the fact that our wolf pack is in serious debt. If I can’t find a way to secure financing for our estate, we’ll lose our shifting sanctuary. My stepmother—wonderfully wicked as she is—has come up with a plan: seduce a rich jeweler who’s visiting for the weekend. And then, when he agrees to bond with me and make me his forever, we’ll be saved. Not such a bad deal, considering he’s crazy hot, and I’ve had a crush on him forever.
One problem: I’m not a temptress, not by a long shot. It’s a good thing my childhood best friend, Hunter, has come back into the area. He’s always been a playboy and knows how to get what he wants. He agrees to teach me the rules of seduction, but before long, I realize I’m the one being played.
Review
I'm going to sit right here on the fence on this one.
I picked this up because i tend to stick to the same type of books. It's rare i read paranormal unless it's by my fave authors. I saw this and i liked the idea of it and i thought I'd step out my safety box and read about Shifters as well as trying a new author.
I won't go into to much detail about the story it's a short story and the blurb tells you what it's about.
I'll start with the good. I thought the writing was really easy to read. I liked the characters (not sure about Malcolm though) but Hunter and Snow were both likeable and i liked that they are best friends.
Gotta say there's plenty of loving going on even though it's a short book. It was pretty hot but a little repetitive.
I also found some things quite funny, it gave me a few chuckles along the way.
Now onto the Meh bits. There was no shifting!! Maybe in the next one? I wanted to step out the box and i get the same as I've been reading already. No wolfy antics, just man and woman.
There isn't much of a story as yet. Maybe again that comes in the next book?
I get it's a three part thing and that certain things won't come out until further along but something might have been nice. Anything really. It was just an erotic short.
I have a feeling i will read the next books in the series because i want to find out what happens next. I still like the idea. I just hope in book two there's more wolf and pack details.
As i said. I'm on the fence. I didn't dislike it but it didn't catch too much of my attention either.
Maybe when all three are out it will be a great whole book.
We'll see i guess!
