Last Chance is a story of love and heartache proving that life is not always fair, but it's worth the pain to get the moments you’ll treasure forever. Mackenzie     From the very first moment I laid eyes on him, I knew my heart was his for the taking. He was the boy who filled me with butterflies and made my palms turn clammy at the mere sight of him. There was only one problem… he was my best friend’s older brother. It’s been eight years since I’ve last seen him, and I refuse to live another day without telling him the truth. So here I stand, taking my last chance to get him to notice me, my last chance to see if he feels the same way. I need to know if he is just a fantasy, or if he could be my reality… Before my reality changes forever. Connor I never wanted a girlfriend; I was burned by love and vowed to never go down that road again. But when the beautiful girl I’ve known practically my entire life snuck her way into my arms there was something that changed in me. I wanted to be with her, next to her. Just simply kissing her lips made my life complete. Now I have one mission. To make hers complete, too.

Review 4.5 “Love Of A Lifetime” Stars   All the tears. All the feels.    Last Chance is a bit of a departure from Ms. Runow’s norm but what a way to introduce herself in a new way. While there is still steam (lots of it), this one was a more contemporary love story that ripped my emotions and never let up. There was still some of her trademark angst and suspense, but it was also a story that really delved deep into it’s characters and my heart.      Mackenzie has been in love with her best friends’ brother for years. And now that she’s started her list, she’s going to make things happen. So she sets it up so that she can finally show him who she is and that she is more than his little sister’s friend. And what develops is more than she could have hoped for. But life is constantly moving forward and all the things she wants to accomplish come at a price. When Conner enters her life, nothing is the same.    As this story opened up, I was intrigued to say the least. Learning about these two characters and their connection had me flipping the pages. And the underlying angsty made me a tad anxious. While the beginning started somewhat slow, it really picked up speed and was full steam ahead for most of the book leaving me breathless by the end. This story is one that I won’t forget and reminds me why I’m so glad I found Ms. Runow on Twitter all those years ago. If you’re new to her, this would be a phenominal read to introuducce you to her way with words. Just have some tissues on hand.    ARC provided to A is for Alpha B is for Books for honest review.
