Crown of Lies is NOW LIVE!

Full Blurb

“I met the boy I wanted. But then he vanished and a new man claimed me instead. My father approved, my colleagues congratulated, and behind closed doors, I was bedded by a stranger.”

Noelle Charlston lived a fairy-tale life: a doting father, a powerful job, and a future blessed with financial security.

However, two meetings with two men changed her happy existence forever. First, she met the boy who made her heart sing. Second, she met the man who made her blood quiver.

Noelle’s freedom was no longer hers. It belonged to the man her father believed was the perfect match. The man who pulled his lies over everyone he touched.

Including her.

Seduced and manipulated, Noelle lives two lives. The one everyone sees on the outside and the one no one sees on the inside. The lies he spins, the truth he hides, the mystery he webs—it’s all enough to slowly erode the woman she’d been and turn her into something else.

Until her past collides with her present.

And it’s her turn to lie.

To everyone…including herself.

My Review

What a twisty, turny rollercoaster. I'm not sure my review will make a ton of sense, since I'm honestly still scratching my head at all the possibilities. Pepper Winter knows how to write a steamy, suspenseful story better than just about anyone. I was constantly scratching my head and then in the next breath needing a fan to cool me down. Do I know where the story is going? No, not really. But that makes me super excited for the conclusions of this duet.

Elle has been raised by her father since she lost her mother as a young girl to take over the family business. At 16 she does just that. Then on her 19th birthday, she realizes that she has never lived. She's never walked down the streets of New York with her friends and just had fun. So that night she decides to do something daring and it ends up turning her life upside down. Meeting a nameless stranger changed her outlook on life. Three years later, she still thinks about that night and wonders what could have been. But now she's fully in charge of her business and has no time for men. Until Penn enters the picture. He's dark and mysterious and pulls the wool over not only her eyes but her father as well. But as time moves forward, the facade starts to crack and when Elle realizes all the lies Penn has told her, she know she'll never get over it.

I really liked Elle from the start. She was a different kind of heroine. She was meek and quiet until she couldn't be anymore. Then she turned strong and determined. Then there was Penn. I gotta be honest, it was hard for me to like him. Sure he had his moments, but over all I kinda wanted to kick him in the junk. lol

All that aside, the story was spell binding and I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more. I have no idea how this is going to play out. How it will all be made better. I don't see how it's possible, honestly. But I know if anyone can do it, it's Pepper Winters.

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex... her books have sex.
