Man oh man. I could not put this book down. I devoured it. And I'm glad the next book is coming soon. Because I NEED it. This was my first book by B.B. Reid and I am a huge fan. This book was dark and dirty and suspenseful and I didn't stop reading until I was finished and even after I still have not stopped thinking about it.
The Bandit is a story about revenge and survival. Mian is barely getting by and is pretty much all alone in the world except for her friend next door and her baby boy. She's doing what she needs to survive until it comes to a point when even that isn't enough. So she goes to her father who's in prison for murdering his best friend determined to find a way to support her son. She's going to finish the job of taking what her father couldn't. She's gonna get in and get out and no one will be the wiser. Except not.
Angel has obsessed over his history with Mian since she was just a girl. Now that she's stolen from him and her father murdered his, he is determined to get revenge and he'll do it by any means necessary. Taking her son to get his way seems simple enough. But when she refuses to give back what she took, Angel warns her he'll take everything she has and keep her prisoner until he's satisfied. But their history is as thick as the tension between them and Angel quickly realizes that teaching her a lesson is more difficult that he ever thought and his family legacy is more slippery than he ever knew.
This book was a dark and dirty delight. It isn't for the faint of heart for sure. But if you like your heroes of the anti-variety and a storyline that will keep you on your toes and your romance's a little bit dark, then you will devour this story just like I did. And after that ending, you'll be as glad as I am that The Knight is just around the corner.
