I’ve loved him as long as I can remember.
The gangly boy with big brown eyes and unruly hair who grew up into an intoxicating man. He wears scruff like he invented it and ambles with a swagger that makes panties drop.
Killian Shepard.
Shep.
We grew up together. We played Ghost in the Graveyard. Had our own rock band. It didn’t matter that he was five years older than me. It didn’t matter that he looked at me as a kid sister even as I grew into a woman. It didn’t even matter when he left me behind to go to college and start his adult life.
He’d be back.
He was always meant to be mine.
He came back, all right. But instead of smelling of promises, he stunk of betrayal. And he destroyed me—us—the day he married my sister instead of me.
So I did the only thing a girl like me in my position could do.
I got my revenge.
I married his brother, Kael.
Now we’re one big happy fucking family.

My Review
Holy smokes. That was an unexpected, angsty, sexy and at times furious ride of emotions. Black Swan Affair was my first book by K.L. Kreig but it certainly won't be the last. I was hooked from the blurb and devoured every last word in one sitting because there was no way my heart could survive stopping. This story took my expectations and turned them all around, surprising me, making me question myself and the characters and finally giving me everything I wanted out of this broken hearted tale.
This is the story of three people bound in so many ways that finding the end of one means having to untangle the web the other two created. Maverick has been in love with Killian her whole life. But he was older than her and the timing was never right. But yet they fell and fell hard. Or at least that's what Maverick thought until Killian showed up one summer after college married to her sister. Years after suffering through her heartbreak and all the unanswered questions surrounding what happened, she married her best friend, and Killian's brother, Kael, Kael has been in love with Maverick his whole life but until recently he was always firmly friend-zoned. But as time wore on and Kael never gave up, Maverick decided if Killian could hurt her, she would hurt him and maybe even move on. But nothing in this messed up love triangle that's not really a love triangle is easy. And as years worth of regret and secrecy are finally uncovered, Maverick has to decide if she the right decision or the very worst.
This is one story you'll want to go in blind when you read. There are layers and layers to the story that as they're uncovered, you'll want to be as surprised as Maverick. I have to be honest and say that this story gave me major anxiety and even created some big ragey moments that had me wanting to chuck my Kindle across the room. And then when things were revealed, I was shocked. By that time I was beyond ready for the reveal and when the reveal came I have to say I questioned parts of it. Of course my overly rational brain couldn't let go of some of the details and I wanted a bit more towards the end in regards to closure for all three though I have to admit I was surprised by the ending but in the BEST way. Now I'm excited to see what else Ms. Kreig has up her sleeve because she's got a new fan.

Author Bio
I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).
