Amazing! I’m not
even quite sure where to start with this book.
How do I properly express the amount of emotions that I was put through
while reading it?
I am almost ashamed
to admit that this is my first Bella Jewel novel, having now read it - in one
sitting I might add because it was so damn good - I can definitely say that I
will be binged reading the rest of the series as soon as I can.
From the get go, the blurb sucked me in.
Pandemonium is Book One in the MC Sinners Next Generation Series, following on
from the original MC Sinners Series, and can easily be read as a standalone.
Although I can’t imagine why anyone would want to just stop at one.
Ava is the 24 year
old daughter of Jackson the President of the Hell’s Knights MC. She adores her family as well as the adopted
family of the Hell’s Knights and couldn’t imagine having grown up any other way
than in the protective folds of the MC.
But one night her world changes when she is taken tortured and used to
send a message to the club. Broken and
bleeding, she is found on the street by Lucas Black who is a detective living
with a tortured past of his own and rescued.
Unable to deal with
the events of the night and not wanting to hurt her family with the truth about
what happened to her, her life quickly spirals out of control. Seeking just a little reprieve from the
constant nightmares and memories, she does whatever she has to do to silence
the pain.
Lucas Black – Oh that poor man, how much
heartache can one human possible take. I
lost count of how many tears I shed for this guy. A large part of his story is written in the
past tense and takes you through all the events that have made him into the
broken, barely functioning man that he is today. He has a single focus in life, his job as a
Detective. It is the only thing that keeps him going and gives him a brief
reprieve from the unbearable grief that constantly consumes him. When he discovers Ava on the street in
desperate need of help, he recognizes the pain in her eyes and sees her
spiralling and wants to do whatever he can to help her. He is Alpha male at his
finest – sexy, protective and just the right amount of dominance that would
make any woman want to do what he says. Oh and did I mention a heart of gold,
this man has definitely made it to my top 10 favourite Alphas list!
I loved how this
story unfolded and how these two tortured souls came together. Definitely not insta-love by an means, this
pair are from two different worlds and are an unlikely match – the daughter of
an MC President and a by the book Detective with a huge grudge of his own with
the Hell’s Knights Club. I couldn’t have
imagined this book written any other way than with Ava and Lucas’s bond forming
slowly as they struggle to help each other heal from the unbelievable pain they
both carry around with them.
A great read with
plenty of twists, characters that will steal a piece of you heart and oh so
many emotions. Seriously, this book
should come with a disclaimer about needing tissues and chocolate to help you
through it. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out, and to
see what emotional turmoil Bella Jewel puts us through next.
