My Review
've been so excited for the follow up to Tattooed Emotions and Tattooed Scars did not disappoint. Starting where book 1 ended, Damien has found out about Raelyn's cancer and Raelyn is starting to see the extent of Damien's past trauma. Together they are strong and resilient even in the face of heavy obstacles. Both determined to be together, their relationship blossoms even as life can't seem to stop getting in the way.
With Damien by her side, Raelyn still wants to be self-reliant and independent but Damien wants to take care of what's his. And Raelyn is his. Even though they haven't known each other long and even though they have been together an even shorter time, both are committed to their relationship. Raeylin is in the process of trying to figure out how to run her business now that he ex-best friend and business partner is gone after embezzling money. And just when she thinks that life is starting to look up, her cancer returns. So tired from her last fight, Raelyn just wants to enjoy the time left she has with Damien. Damien, on the other hand, refuses to lose Raelyn, and tries to his best to find any solution he can. But as time seems to be running out, the future doesn't look quite as bright as it once did.
Tattooed Scars had a bit of different feel that Tattooed Emotions. It was more introspective than angsty. Damien and Raelyn are sure of themselves and each other, it's cancer that is getting in the way. It's also more of a story about learning to accept the hand life has dealt without losing hope. It's a very emotional story and will hit home for anyone who has loved someone through a sickness. Damien and Raelyn's love story was passionate and palpable. I could feel their love and desire and devotion coming off the page. This story broke my heart open but left me with so much hope for their conclusion.
