The New York Times Best Selling author Nashoda Rose is back with the much anticipated story of Kai and London in the Unyielding series.
Kai There is nothing I care about. No attachments. No connections. Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman. Until my target sees my knife. I fear nothing, not even death. In my world, death is considered a privilege. But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and when I met her, I should’ve walked away. I didn’t. I was too selfish. And that sealed her fate. Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin. London We all have unique layers that make up who we are. What makes us vulnerable or strong. What we fear and what excites us. But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed. They did that to me. Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned. I merely existed. But there was one layer they overlooked. The most important of them all—the tie to one man. The man responsible for me being this way. The man who found me. And the killer who would do anything to protect me.
Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London. Their beginning. And the continuing story of Vault.
Must be read in order:
Perfect Chaos (Unyielding, #1) Deck and Georgie
Perfect Ruin (Unyielding, #2) Kai and London
Perfect Rage (Unyielding, #3) Connor’s story
My
Review
There is never a
doubt in my mind whenever I pick up a Nashoda Rose novel, that by the time I
reach it’s end a little piece of my heart will forever belong to it’s
characters. And that could not be truer
than with Book Two of the Unyielding series Perfect Ruin. I have been waiting for Kai’s story ever
since I got a taste of him in Torn from You and then watched as his story and
personality began to unfold more in Book One, Deck and Georgie’s story Perfect
Chaos. But hot damn I don’t think
anything could prepare me for the absolute heart wrenching and twisted world
that our mysterious Kai was born from.
Where do I even begin
to describe everything about this book? Nashoda
once again has taken the truly dark and twisted world of sex trafficking,
organised crime and torture and fused it perfectly with an absolutely
beautiful, heart wrenching story of two people from completely opposite worlds,
then wrapped it all together with plenty of blood chilling suspense, insane
physical attraction and a roller coaster of feels that have left me with a book
hangover so big that the only thing that will fix it, will be the next book in
the series when it is released next year!
Kai – Intense, mysterious, sexy as sin and as lethal as they
come. He is always in control, for years
he was trained to be. Tortured until he felt nothing, stripped down until he
had nothing left, and taught two fundamental rules…Death was a privilege that
people who crossed him would beg for, and connections were liabilities. His assignment was simple, use London as an
incentive to get her scientist father to give them what they wanted and then
walk away. But when London offers him a
deal in exchange for her fathers’ safety, will Kai be able to refuse the one
person who has somehow managed to work their way under his skin. And will his choice put them in more danger
than he can protect either one of them from.
London – daughter of a scientist, blackmailed by Kai’s
organisation. She has always dreamed of
following in her fathers’ footsteps, until Kai shows up and she discovers that
her father is involved with things that have put both their lives in danger. Desperate to protect him, she offers Kai
another incentive to buy her father more time.
She doesn’t want to want him.
Everything he represents screams at her that he will be her destruction,
so why does she feel like she is somehow safer whenever he is around.
Amazing, captivating
and complex characters, written with dual point of view and a few insights from
secondary characters as well just to make it even better. I loved that the boys from Tears Asunder made
an appearance and that we got to see so much more from Deck and Georgie as
well. As always Nashoda’s writing was
flawless and her ending once again left me in a state of warm and fuzzy, hot
under the collar and dying for the next book in the series which will be
Connor’s story, which I can already tell will be on pre order the first chance
I get!
