My Review

I LOVE Lev. Absolutely, positively, deep to my soul, adore him.

Swoon. Sigh. Salivate. Lev is mine.

This book has shot right to the top of my favorites list of not just this year, but of my all-time favorites. There wasn't one thing that I didn't adore about this story. From the lick-worthy cover, to the strong yet defiant Mina to the perfectly imperfect quiet alpha hero Lev. I fell in love.

Mina is struggling. She's struggling to survive. She's struggling to find a place to fit. She's struggling with her past. When she can't take it anymore, she decides she has to take drastic actions. When she's caught stealing a wallet of a wealthy man at a gentleman's club, she's mortified. What Mina doesn't expect is for the gorgeous man that caught her to give her a lifeline. Either jail or a job. Stunned by his generosity, she takes the job (and the living arrangements) that come along with it.

Lev has always known he was different. He doesn't respond to people the same way as others. He doesn't process emotions the same way. And he doesn't understand social cues either. With a troubled back ground, he doesn't think he has it in him to have a normal relationship. When he stumbles across Mina, he is shocked at how he responds to her. He automatically wants to protect this stranger and he isn't sure why. Working for his brother has been his whole life, but adding Mina to the mix seems to make everything better.

As Mina and Lev get to know each other, sparks (slowly) fly. Mina can tell there is something different about Lev, but that just makes him all the more attractive. As she works on getting her life in order, she becomes part of Lev's family. As their relationship takes on a life of it's own, these two learn more about each other and keep falling.

This story was a signature Belle Aurora romance. With humor, a heart warming family, a beautiful romance with a little bit of suspense and darkness thrown in, this story owned me from the very beginning. Lev was perfect. Absolutely perfect. He was sweet and caring and a sexy alpha without being overbearing. The cover fits the story brilliantly. It's a perfect representation of what I imagined Lev to be. Mina, too, was the perfect counterpart for Lev. She was understanding and strong when Lev needed it but also listened and followed when it was necessary. These two together was a most beautiful sight to be sure.

In addition to the spot on casting of the main characters, the secondary characters especially Lev's siblings, really helped tell the story. They added depth to the H/h as well as a little bit of confrontation and lots of laughs. I'm really excited to see where their stories go. Plus getting to see the gang from the Friend-Zoned series briefly was just icing on the already delicious cake.
