Synopsis

Dirty.

Imprisoned in a small room within the walls of the Satan's Creed Motorcycle Club compound, Casey Richards struggles to survive the only life she was raised to know. Her mother, a club whore, and her father, an unknown outlaw she’s never met, Casey’s fate is all but sealed in the eyes of the club. Foul. Unclean. Undesirable. Trapped in a loveless marriage, and with no children of her own, Emma Carsen is the only living soul willing to fight for her niece, Casey. She’s all but given up on saving her until the one man she’s longed to see again unexpectedly finds his way back to town and into her life. Sordid. Vile. Unscrupulous. Max Taylor, former-biker of a disbanded MC, has been holding onto reasons to avoid coming back to the small town he grew up in. The same ghosts that drove him away eventually force Max to find his way back. Now that he's home, he may be Casey’s only chance for freedom. Filthy. Hateful. Impure. In order to get to Casey, Max must find a way to infiltrate the MC. Setting up a meet with Hoss, Satan's Creed’s President who’s known for his depravity as much as his double-crossing ways, it’s made clear that forming an alliance is going to be more of a challenge than he expected. Now he must prove his loyalty to the club and in doing so, he’s forced to get his hands… DIRTY.

Review

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I don't think it will be my last!

This book is the story of Max and Em. Max has just returned to his home town after many years away. His sister was murdered 12 years ago and he never found out who did it. Max didn't cope well with her death and took off to try and deal with his grief never giving up hope of finding her killer. Em is the sister of a girl Max used to date and also a friend of his sisters. Max always wanted her and she always wanted him. Over the years Em made a life for herself of what she thought she needed. She married a rich successful lawyer who put his career before her and who never wanted a family she longed for.

Max returns to town and Em gets in touch with him to help her find her niece Casey. Her sister has got mixed in with a bad MC and she completely neglected her daughter. Em was allowed to visit her from time to time but that was a year ago and now Em doesn't know where she is or what has happened to her. Max is her last hope.

The story goes from here and i won't spoil the plot but Max has to get into the MC to find Casey. He also starts to want Em as his own because he feels he should have claimed her years ago.

I really enjoyed the story and the plot kept me keen to read it. I also really like both Max and Em. Max is pretty hot i gotta be honest! I also like the sub-characters his best friend Tommy and childhood friends Aimes and Low who are adopted siblings. In fact i'm keeping my fingers crossed that these guys get books of their own! The only thing that stops me giving this book the full 5 stars is that i didn't really feel the connection between Max and Em from years ago. There was no back story as such just bits here and there which i felt weren't enough for me to build their past connection. The connection does however build from when they reunite.

Overall i really enjoyed this book. Some parts are a little dark and i have a feeling that book 2 Truth will continue in the same light. Can't wait to find out what happens!

4 stars

Pursing her lips, her face gets serious again. “I don’t think you should get involved. “You involved me when you asked for help. It’s too late anyway. I’m already in.” “Shit,” she mumbles. Leaning forward in my seat, I rest my elbows on my knees and focus on her face to keep her attention. “I have an intro to Creed tonight. If this goes well, I could have a job. If it doesn’t go well, we will rethink the plan.” Now she looks completely defeated and we’ve only just started. “I don’t have a plan, Max,” she states, standing and putting her hand to her forehead. “What I have is a niece who needs my help, law enforcement in this shit of a town that refuses to acknowledge what’s happening in it, and the only person I think I can count on is meeting with the man who’s to blame for all of it.” “I don’t think Hoss is the biggest problem,” I inform. “If rumor is true, there’s someone else leading this, and that someone is big. Hoss is no one in comparison to who we’re really talking about.”
