SYNOPSIS

What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn't supposed to, and I sure as hell didn't want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don't think I'll ever be the same. She's seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she's still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won't let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there's someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I'd never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I'll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can't be what she needs, so why can't I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

MY REVIEW

I read Fueled exactly 4 weeks ago. I have had 4 weeks of letting it settle over me, 4 weeks to think about what I am going to write. And yet after all that time, I still can't figure out how to review this and give K. Bromberg the recognition she deserves.
Now I assume a few of you have probably already read Fueled. Going by the Amazon best sellers list I assume correct. But if you're like me and don't like to read a book when it's blowing up my Goodreads, (weird I know) or like some who would rather wait till all 3 books have been released then this review is for you.

I can sit here and say OMG this is amazing! You have to read this series… like I just did.
Or
I can sit here and tell you why you're missing out on one of the best series, in it's genre, that I have ever read.

Fueled has set the bar for me in terms of reading a Trilogy.
K. Bromberg manages to take this story further, way beyond your expectations without going down the path that leaves you frustrated and not interested by the time the final instalment's arrived.
Where Driven was passionate and fun with so much sexual tension, Fueled was deep and unexpected. You have everything that Driven delivered, but what Fueled  gives you is a whole different level of Intense.

Colton and Rylee's story isn't just dragged out to fill a second book. You really believe that Kristy has taken her time to give you their story and given it properly. Each book needs to be savoured. Not all rushed to get your happy ending.
Their relationship has so many layers it's unlike any you probably have ever read.
For me, at times it felt so believable, I was left a little confused as to why certain scenes didn't progress the way you're use to reading. Certain scenes you would think you knew where it was going, or I guess where you're use to it going. But then it would totally not go that way. Then, when you least expect it, you're sitting there watching a whole different scene play out and thinking… What? Happened? No.. Please… Stop.
It was pure genius.

The tortured hero has been done so many times,  I'm not even sure if we will ever tire of it. But the difference with, Colton, is the emotion behind his fears feel so real. Like you're experiencing them right along with him.

She pushes me. Unmans me. Consumes me. Scares the ever-loving shit out of me. She feels like the start of a race, stopping my heart and speeding it up simultaneously.
She makes me think thoughts  I shouldn't. Dig deep into the black within me and makes me think in 'whens', not 'ifs.'

Pleasure to bury the pain….

Colton's past leaves him no choice but to protect his heart. He has built his walls so high that even he can't seem to lower them. And watching him try and struggle with it was heartbreaking. You want to reach out for that little boy, mourn for him, and protect the man he is today.
He tries then pulls back. He pushes and then fails. You're watching a heartbreaking dance and you can't stop it. You feel helpless but hopeful.

How can you accept love from anyone when the one person that is supposed to protect you from everything is the one who harmed you the most?

But Fueled wasn't just about Colton. Rylee's own journey is a hard one to follow, while you can sympathise with Colton, you feel torn because Rylee is affected by it all. It's horrible to watch her withdraw  from herself, the woman we met in Driven, slowly begins to change.
It's powerful to see her stand her ground.
It's beautiful to see her love with all her heart, for a man so clearly broken he can't give her what she deserves.
And it's painful to see her hurt from it all.

I know I loved Max with everything I had, but it pales in comparison to what Colton and I just shared. Together we are so intense, so volatile, so powerful, so intimate that I don't think I've ever felt closer to another human being as I do with Colton right now.

At times, those moments were harder on me then others. To be with someone and not truly be yourself… would eventually ruin you. Drain you. And you feel that for her.

I love you...  It takes everything to stifle the words on my lips . I want to scream it out loud.

Rylee the strong woman is still there with her laugh out loud moments,  the Duck quote had me laughing so hard in a scene that at the same time had my heart pounding, my stomach queazy.
And yet, her attitude and courage shines through.

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck….

QUACK…..

Fueled also had the  amazing Holy Hot smoking sex, I become addicted to in Driven. Kristy has an impeccable skills with sexual build up.. The woman is a tease!

"I want you thinking about me all night long. More specifically everything I plan on doing to you later when I have you alone." He breathes out, his voice a deceptive whisper that has the desire within me igniting into a raging inferno. "Where my tongue is going to lick. Where my fingers are going to grip. Where my mouth is going to taste. Where my cock is going to stroke. How my body is going to worship every incredible inch of yours."

It's all about

Seduction

Lust

Anticipation…

The Journey is unbelievable and the second half of the book you're watching in absolute
PAIN, FASCINATION and FRUSTRATION.
You can NOT put it down, even if you tried.
By the end of this book I felt so protective of Rylee, I really did. I love Colton but, Rylee is my girl and I just want to protect her so hard.
For me Colton is so messed up, even I didn't think he would ever get to a point where I would be ok with him not hurting Rylee. But I was wrong.

In true Bromberg style she leaves you feeling so much emotion you feel like you're Bipolar. Let me tell you this ending was epic!

 “Spiderman. Batman. Superman. Ironman.”

K. Bromberg has created characters so real, I could feel them as well as see them.
The writing is evocative, the storyline compelling. Her narrative is raw and and filled with substance that at times felt like she was writing to me. I loved every single thing about this book.

IF there is one thing you take away from my review… Do NOT Wait to start this series. Go and experience this now! You will not regret it.
