Anything but Minor is unputdownable and I didn't want it to end. I have a girl crush on Alice. And Rafe. And probably Kate Stewart too. This was a gem of a sweet, swoon worthy, and giggle inducing story.
Alice has just moved to Charleston, SC with a job teaching pilots how to fly a new plane. Finally out from under her mother's Midwestern thumb, she's loving every minute of her new city including its minor league baseball team. When she sits in the wrong assigned seat at the baseball game, she doesn't know it, but she changes the projection of her whole life.
It's Rafe's year. With his amazing arm and knowledge of the game, he's going to get picked up by his major league team. But meeting Alice starts to prove that maybe, just maybe, there's more to life than just baseball. They say opposites attract and that fact is proven and not just by Google. Alice and Rafe start as friends but slowly realize that's not enough. When hearts and jobs start to overlap, though, reality sucker punches these two making them fight for their forever.
I know Kate can write angst. I know Kate can write emotional. This book proves that Kate can write anything. I had a smile on my face the whole time. These two were silly and sweet and so sexy. I seriously could not get enough of them. Add in the delightful side characters and I'm hoping she makes a series out this. If you're new to Kate Stewart, this is the perfect introduction. It shows her strength as an author and may be one of my favorite books to date (though that's like choosing my favorite child-impossible). If you've read and loved Kate before then this is another example of exactly why we love her so much.
