My Review
This trilogy has gripped my emotions and my imagination right from the start and this addition is no different. Amongst the paranormal, sci-fi, horror of the post-apocalyptic world, Pam Godwin weaves a beautifully emotionally gripping, epic romance between Evie and her beloved guardians. With off the charts steam, bits of well placed humor, and page turning suspense, this story has quickly become one of my absolute favorites.
Blood of Eve is the continuation of Evie's story through a virus ravaged world with her three guardians Jesse, Roarke and Michio. For the last two years they've been searching for nymphs in the hopes of restoring humanity. They work together to rid the world of aphids and searching for like minded people in hopes that they can reverse the damage done by the evil Drone. All the while Evie and her guardians are growing closer and are developing a bond that is continually tested both by outside forces and within the group as emotions are bared by their unusual relationship.
While book 1 blew my mind with the world building and had heart pounding trials that Evie had to battle herself out of, this addition entranced me with the powerful bonds these four have made. With the strong willed and determined Evie, the quiet selfless Jesse, the sweet funny Roarke, and the devoted alpha Michio, this love square is the perfect example of true love and soul mates. While Pam realistically sets the pace and development of their relationship, these people bound by fate and destiny show what real family and dedication means. I adored all the heroes and while I usually have a favorite when more than one hero is introduced, like Evie, I find it impossible to pick just one. Together they make a whole and losing one would be like losing an integral part.
This fast paced, emotional story had me gripping my Kindle, blushing like a school girl, brought tears to my eyes, and made my heart beat out of my chest. The ending of this book leaves the story open to book 3 without leaving me hanging. That said I am desperate to see where Pam takes this story and my beloved characters. I am anxiously awaiting the conclusion to this unique tale. While I know it is out of the box for many romance readers (myself included), I cannot recommend this series highly enough.
